Fortress of Dark Illusions

1 Fiend monster, except a Token

If this card is Link Summoned: You can activate 1 "Lair of Darkness" from your Deck, also you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn. Cannot be used as a Link Material. Your opponent cannot Tribute this face-up card and the card it points to. Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can Tribute 1 DARK monster; cards you currently control cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects for the rest of this turn, also neither player takes any battle damage.

It's basically Lair Support. If the player can't get a copy of Lair or Terraforming to search it, the strategy usually falls apart after the first few moves or so. It can also be used with a Tour Guide/Sangan combo to protect your Life Points and search a hand trap during your opponent's turn, even if you don't have Lair in your Deck. Note that this effect protects all of your cards, not just monsters (and including Lair of Darkness itself). The card art is not mine.

Wow, where did you get that artwork? Pretty cool looking card. I don't really like facing lair decks. It's not that the card is op, it's just that the mechanic of the card feels wrong and contrary to the spirit of good fun, so I can only be biased when I see lair support. But if I put my objective glasses on for a second, I can see a well written effect, however I fail to see the connection between the artwork, the name and the card's effects; when I first saw the name and then the artwork, I expected a retrain or an upgrade.

To answer your questions: I just found the artwork online. I did a search of Castle of Dark Illusions on Google Search and ended up finding that one. As for the Link Summon effect, it's actually based off the manga effect that shrouded the Player Killer of Darkness's field in darkness. The tribute effect is based off the Yellow Luster Shield card that protected all of his monsters and raised their defenses.
