Pot of Insatiability

Normal Spell Card

At the Start of your Main Phase 1: Draw 2 cards. You cannot add other cards to your hand by card effects the turn you activate this card. You can only activate 1 "Pot of Insatiability" per turn.

Easily an accurate errata for Pot of Greed. While I am not against errata (well done like rescue cat's) I do believe cards like Pot of greed should never be touched. Restrictions were added so you cannot plus before or after this card and has to be the very first card you use. No SS restriction so combo decks can make some use of this to an extent. Right now my only concern here for this card is orcust though. Keep in mind you are restricted to add cards to your hand (by effects) from anywhere.

The card is interesting. It has to be activated as your first card, much like Pot of Extravagance, which does hinder it's usage somewhat given that you can't really play around negates with it. It doesn't have any costs like Pot of Extravagance though ( banishing from the extra deck is a cost, even if it doesn't make you go minus ), so it doesn't hurt too much if your opponent negates it.

Also given that drawing cards is a form of adding cards from your deck to your hand, this is quite more restrictive than Pot of Extravagance, given that on top of restricting your draws, it also restricts your searches ( a quick thing to note, a lot of cards that restrict searches have a clause that say "except by drawing", so you can still draw cards under them ( examples: Thunder King Rai-Oh, Thunder Dragon Colossus, etc ). With that restriction in place, not only could you not activate things like Card of Demise or Pot of Desires, but you also couldn't activate things like Pot of Duality.

I'm not quite sure what the ideal deck for this is. The thing that comes to mind right away would be a stun deck ( featuring Inspector Boarder, Fossil Dyna, etc ), but that deck would much prefer to play Duality / Extravagance, even if you have to banish your extra deck for it. You do mention that combo decks could use it, but I'm not sure. A lot of combo decks rely on searching, and Pot of Desires can fill the card draw without sacrificing your searching. Plus, a lot of combo decks right now involve Sekka's Light, which restricts neither searching nor drawing and gives additional benefits.

As I mentioned before, an interesting card for sure, but given how it works, I'm not quite sure any deck really has a home for it.

Right now the ideal deck for this card is orcust, they search little to nothing and pass over things like collusus by placing their cards directly on the field (Bardige helps with that too).

Stun decks on the other hand shouldnt use this considering extravagance and card of demise are far better options, this is more to try to unbrick hands and for decks capable of gaining advantage by outting the cards in GY or directly on the field instead of searching. But at that point if more decks like orchust (or better than them in that aspect) ever come out, this could be in a ban list radar. Which is ironic
