Hey all! :) I made an archetype of DARK Dragons and put a decent amount of time into it to make it balanced, though I probably missed a few things. Im not the best with PSCT, so if there's an issue there I can totally fix it! Also, this archetype originated in a story i was working on, so there's quite a few more cards than this, but im only posting highlights unless im asked for the others :)

let's start with main monster first and hopefully i have time to spare at some point in future to complete the CnC

Underflame Dragling: CyDra summon effect, double tribute is, can extent your Tribute summon Shenanigans, pretty good

Underflame Lavil: the "Eidos" of the deck really good in conjunction with Dragling this will put 2 2 tribute monster on the field

Underflame Lindrake: Standard searcer, Token effect is kinda wonky in term for its tribute/fusion usage but at very least it can act as your shield in grind game, the piercing bonus is neat

Underflame Sky Patrol: you need to watch out for that self-summon effect since is quite generic as other deck engine especially with the rise of dragon meta in OCG and then in TCG soon (though it hampered slightly in OCG with REDMD banned) bonus effect is pretty sweet.

Underflame Wyburn: 1st effect is cool but the way it was worded irks me like how unlike other card with similiar effect this trying to tied different summon method (normal dan special summon) which i think can cause quite a confusion. my personal solution is to make the summoning process a Normal Summon entirely by borrowing Gemini monster logic that "no matter where its originate as long its place on field with normal summon process then its a normal summon" which roughly like this:

"During your Main Phase, You can: Immediately after this effect resolve, Tribute Summon 1 Level 8 "Underflame" Monster in your GY by tributing "Underflame" Monsters including this card."

the Banish and Negate effect is nice

Thanks for the feedback! Usually i make archetypes kinda quickly because i have a lot of ideas, so they can be bad, but i spent ages trying to make sure the cards here were worded correctly and were fair :3 Glad im doing at least an okay job! :)

This time its the Tribute Summon monsters

All of them is UTL which kinda annoying personally but its still an ok effect most of the time also its a fair trade given these monster is really battle oriented

Dragonlord: i haven't got to extra deck and yet you going ham with this card. This does wreck your opponent board in quite decent manner and given the plenty "break my board" strategy out there i probably give this a pass for now

Underblade & Skyburner: these have same problem they have effect that basically same as the level <4 tributes bonus effect making those card kinda redundant. The rest of the effects is practical being stat manipulation effect so its ok although its understandably boring (with exception of the draw 1. That there is nice)

Sure thing! I'll try to give them some more unique effects :)

jump a bit to extra deck option

while im not against theme that utilize different summon types. i do have a bit expectation that designs that connect 1 summon type to the other to have a substantial synergy distributed across them. which sadly is not the case with these cards with exception of Underflame Fusion (we get to that later). these link and fusion don't have that synergy like bonus or certain combo if you control tribute summoned monster or use tribute summoned monster as material. heck if you can just put effect that treat fusion as multi-tribute fodder like Battle City Rule of the DM era will be a plus point already

Underflame Brawler: the overall effect is decent. fetch Fusion card the battle effect is not that far off with huge number of stat reduction these archetype has

Underflame Blastroop: generic material, good reduction and burn effect. has float which always welcomed

Underflame Clawri: decent stat reduction effect, the battle bonus is mini Avarice so its welcomed

Underflame Burnpent: nice stat reduction effect, UTL shutdown is nice, float to replace fusion. no complaints (besides above)

Underflame Overflame: nice boss. decent immunity, decent floodgate effect, bit burn is welcomed, the recursion effect + GY manipulated effect is nice although i personally think to make this effect has requirement that related to tribute summmon somehow but thats just my opinion, float is nice

I can try to make it more tribute summon based if it helps, then, thanks :3

  • 2 weeks later...

Underflame Treasure: decent draw power for a fair trade.

Underflame Burnwing: very nice summon effects to start the setup

Underflame Domain: everything about this is relatively fine although the negation prevention for tribute summon is kinda excessive for my taste. but i let it slide for now

Underflame Fusion: nice fusion utility and nice additional normal summon effect. well-rounded card overall

Underflame Darkprison: nice float effect that can facilitate you to chipping opponent's board down. not bad at all

Dunno if replays are allowed, but doing some testing with the deck and its kiiinda samey? All 3 sets were summon 2, summon brawler, add fusion, fusion summon. The third was a little different, but eh. Idk if the deck being the same thing every single time is an issue or not :o
