"Hound" Monsters [Written]

This is my first card post here. I've been avoiding it up until now because I can't quite come up with ones that I can make an archetype out of without making this a year long reading experience, and no one is gonna wanna listen to me ramble on about ideas. So I've put my one usable idea so far in this section. It's a written post because I can't bother with the cardmaker's issues and I don't know how to make it work. There are only four cards at the moment, but I believe you'll get a decent idea of where i'm going. Apologies If I ramble anyway.

1. Rushin, The Howling Hound

Lv. 4 Dark BEAST-Type monster

1700 ATK/1500 DEF

Effect: When this card is normal summon, you can special summon one "Hound" monster from your hand. If this card leaves the field, special summon one "Hound" monster from your deck.

2. Onyx, The Sentry Hound

Lv. 4 Dark BEAST-type monster

1700 ATK/1500 DEF

Effect: When this card is card is special summoned, you can add one "Hound" card from your deck to your hand. When this card leaves the field, send one "Hound" monster from your hand or deck to the graveyard.

3. Vile, The War Hound

Lv. 4 Dark Beast-Type Monster

1700 ATK/1500DEF

Effect: If this card is sent to from the hand or deck to the graveyard, special summon it. If this card leaves the field, send one card from your deck to the graveyard, except another copy of "Vile, The War Hound".

8 (This card will be the boss monster, hence the number. More support will come soon if we can think it up.)

Lv. 8 Dark BEAST-type fusion monster.

3000 ATK/2500

Effect: Must first be fusion summoned using "Voice of the Hound". This card can make 3 Attacks on monsters during the battle phase. If this card would leave the field by an opponents card effect, you can banish one "Hound" monster from your graveyard instead. Once per turn, you can pay 1000 life points, special summon 1 "Hound" monster from your graveyard in defense position.

So far, nothing appears to make these cards special on their own (kind of a identity of sorts). They have a "infinitely summon each other" combo and Vile should probably get a little nerf since with its current card text, it can Special Summon a second copy of itself with its effect, but I do find interesting the "when this card leaves the field" part of the text. Since they don't necessarily have to be destroyed to activate their effects, maybe that could be explored. However, that is a pretty dangerous line to explore with their current effects, because additional effects could make them pretty much broken. Overall, keep working, I'm sure you'll find the identity for this and I believe in its potential.

Thanks for the feedback. I didn't realize I ended up doing that. The text says when this card leaves the field, in order for them to still be usable even when their taken out so that your opponent can't just end your entire life in one turn.

I changed Vile, so now it can't start any summon spam. I literally thought at least two more up when I left the thread. I'll post them here just in case I get knocked out for spamming.

4. Obsidian, The  Raging Hound

Lv. 4 Dark BEAST-type monster

1700 ATK/1500 DEF

Effect: If this card is sent to the graveyard by the effect of a "Hound" monster, you can target one "Hound" monster in your graveyard, inflict damage to your opponent equal to that monster's orginal Attack points. If this card leaves the field, you can destroy one card your opponent controls.

5. Dark, the Dread Hound

lv. 4 Dark BEAST-type monster

1700 ATK/1500 DEF

Effect: If this card is sent to the graveyard by the effect of a "Hound" monster, you can banish this card and one other "Hound" monster from your graveyard to draw two cards. If this card leaves the field, you can shuffle one card your opponent controls into the deck.

6. Void, The Paradox Hound

Lv. 4 Dark BEAST-type monster

1700 ATK/ 1500 DEF

Effect: When this card is sent from the deck to the graveyard by the effect of a "Hound" monster, you can target one "Hound" card in your graveyard, add them to your hand. If this card leaves the field, you can return one card your opponent controls to the hand.

You actually can keep the "when this card leaves the field" float effect on any of the cards. Just make sure that each effect can't be used to summon self-copy and you dont create card that exponentially expand the advantage like Firewall Dragon you should be fine

The main deck is a quite straight foward toolbox strategy with a twist that they have some sort of 2-in-1 Yin Yang effect & trigger effect when sent to GY via its fellow friends

The boss is mostly fine except for its negation effect which kinda off-worded. The closest we got on irl wording would be either:

If this card would be Leaves the field by opponent card; Banish 1 "Hound" Monster from your GY, instead

Or

If this card Would be Either Banished, return to your Extra Deck, Sent to GY, OR be Destroyed by opponent card, *same as above*

Its subtitution instead of negation. If you wonder why i make 2 suggestion, its because the short one is a bit experimental since its usually never worded that way even though is based on existing words

OR, you can just make it reguler Negation

All in all is quite decent

Thank you for the feedback. I really Appreciate it. But I don't know any good grave effects to use for when they leave the field. Edit: I found some good effects. I hope they're good.

The final Main Deck monster before I move on to the spells and traps.

Doragon, The Repentent Hound

Lv. 6 Dark BEAST-type monster

2300 ATK/ 1700 DEF

Effect: This card cannot be normal summoned/set. This card can only be special summoned by banishing two "Hound" monsters from your graveyard. When this card is summoned, shuffle all cards that are banished or in your graveyard back into the deck, then gain 100 Life points for each "Hound" card shuffled into the deck by this effect. This card gains 100 ATK for each "Hound" card shuffled into the deck by this effect.
