They have officially gone too far! Dragons can't be maids, can they? That's just nonsense! (DBMF)

Recommended Posts

How dare they! This is officially science going too far, and my opinion is right, as it always is, because I am the first to say things. Anyway, they seem focused on milling their own cards, or at least getting them into the GY somehow, as the first two cards revealed both do something like that. What else they are going for is hard to say so far, but they could be decent, since they already got some Summoning power, and we know they will have a Level 7, so that's fun. Level 7 dragons. Oh dear...

EDIT: Now all cards have been revealed, and well, they kind of ended up differently than I first thought, so not as much milling, in fact, they only have one card that mills, the other sends directly from the Deck, but that's it, the actual things seem mostly about the return to hand thing, and of all things, they also get a Fusion Monster. Yeah, well that's kind of neat I suppose, they could have been just Main Deck focused and it would be fine, but they get a generic Fusion for Dragons, so hey, throw some Dragons Fusions why don't you? Besides that, they seem to want you to constantly return to the hand from the field, with the main reason for doing so being their Fusion Monster blowing something up each time you do. Yes, this is not a once per turn effect, so bam bam bam, all your opponent's monsters are dead, get ready for an OTK, and if you somehow don't manage that, return them to the hand and try again next turn. I dig them, and they seem quite powerful, but do have high Level monsters you can get somewhat stuck with in the hand, though having some effects that can get them in the GY at least.

Hm, they could potentially have a pretty sizeable monster lineup if the spell card says anything. They might not even have anymore archetypal spells/traps, or maybe just a single field spell.

That's gonna be my guess until more are revealed though.

There are six of them in the spell, so I would expect earth, wind, water, and fire to be the lower levels, while light and dark might be the higher levels. Odds are the top two will be "head dragon maids" or something along this lines, while the master(s) they serve will be the ED cards.

Here's the thing about that LIGHT and DARK theory, though: First, there's only five in the Spell artwork- blondie, redhead, wannabe Madoka, Laudry, and Ms. Megane on the pack. Second, the redhead is the only one besides the glasses girl to be visibly taller than everyone else, so I have a weird feeling that those two- probably DARK/EARTH and FIRE- are the Level 7s Laudry mentions.

Blondie is likely LIGHT, redhead is all but guaranteed FIRE, Laudry is already WATER, pink-haired girl could basically be anything, and glasses girl is either EARTH or DARK. This leaves the boss' (Link? Rank 7 Xyz?) most likely Attribute as WIND.

I only spot 5. Also not sure how many attributes there will be as the spell's effect indicated at least multiple with the same attributes

wow, was looking on my phone and thought the pink ones' hat was another one.

Also, scratch my initial estimate. Considering the spell art, either there's gonna be a hell of a lot of maids in this set, or they definitely plan to add lost of future support. This could actually be a pretty big chunk of the set if they get two monsters per attribute, and if that is the case, then i think the way they do this will be that each maid has a "Maid form" and a "Dragon form", where the maid will be the lower level, and the dragon will be a level seven, with the head maid likely being the ED monster they get in her dragon form.

At least we know that the alternate-bigger form will consist of Level 7s version of the maids. So 10 monster is to be expected. Which IMO, is ideal amount of main deck monster.

Although in Set term, this mean they gonna be have less Spell/Trap Slot...given that Hospitality is a really good card, rest of S/T hopefully will be as stacked or as strong

As it did

their are 13 slots with DMs taking the 14-26 card slot. hospitality is the 23rd so there are at least 4 spells/trap leaving room for only 9 monsters at most so if they do go for 2 of each attribute present than at least 1 pair of the monsters shown in hospitality will be of the same attribute and at least 1 more monster. unfortunately laundry is only #16 so we dont know if there will be more than the 5 shown so far.

They're still dragons, so it's not like a lack of s/t support would hurt them too badly.

Dragonmaids, serving up destruction with a smile! Cooking, cleaning, and burning enemy monsters to cinders are a breeze for the world’s premiere shapeshifted dragon maid service! Strong teamwork and dragonic powers are the secrets to their success, but having access to over a decade’s worth of powerful Dragons and Dragon-related cards doesn’t hurt!

So from YGOrg's TCG announcement of the Mystic Fighters set it seems the Deck its focused on using your lower level Maids and transforming them into their higher level Dragon forms. So milling and tagging out might correlate to them transforming into their true Dragon form which would make sense for why Hospitality says same attribute but different Level.

Called it. It's misss kobayashi's U.A. maids.

Uh guys, is no one gonna talk about how they rolled foolish and reborn into a card

The card is insane, but we won't know how busted it is until we know what the monster lineup is capable of.

DBMF-JP020 ドラゴンメイド・パルラ Dragon Maid Parla
Level 3 WIND Dragon Effect Monster
ATK 500
DEF 1700
You can only use each effect of this card’s name once per turn.
(1) If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: Send 1 “Dragon Maid” card from your Deck to the GY, except “Dragon Maid Parla”.
(2) When the Battle Phase begins: You can return this card to the hand, and if you do, Special Summon 1 Level 8 “Dragon Maid” monster from your hand or GY.

Hey you sexy demons, we got another card. It's not really all that interesting, kind of wish they would just release all of them, odd how they sometimes do that, other times we get random cards like this, which is especially odd when there isn't much to say about them. I guess we know that the low level ones will probably all have that return effect, which makes me think that they want to spam the small ones, plop their stuff in the GY, then go to Battle Phase and snatch back the high Level ones. I like that idea, hopefully they'll play into that, and not do something that makes that playstyle obsolete, I mean Hospitality of the Dragon Maids already is just a Reborn, so those effects seem redundant a little bit, but maybe if the small ones can be spammed easily that will help.

The Organisation has the first high level, it is odd that that one does have the return effect as well and can only summon the level 3 from one's hand (I guess with multiple copies in the GY one can cycle a few in the hand that way), however its in hand effect is nice to play through minor negation boards and it hinting at Fusion members is neat, considering their focus on milling on their typing (given Dragon's Mirror).

So the cover card is likely a Fusion then.

Excuse me jabroni, that's a dragon, we don't deal with dragons in here, only hot ass babes in maid outfits (no confirmation if they actually clean my dirty sheets) who also happen to be dragons. That card kind of threw me off, that wasn't what I expected, firstly Fusion Monsters, well I am glad to see representation, figured they were Main Deck only or had a Link Monster, so what the Fusion Monster(s) will do for them I don't know, that being said, card doesn't seem amazing, it's odd that it's able to return itself for a Level 3. Why would you ever want that when this has better stats an protection etc? Maybe there's a good reason we'll see later, but the discard is fine to put it in the GY, the protection is nice, but nothing special. Of course their playstyle will make it able to get out often hopefully, so that's nice, but not an amazing card.

Hmm, starting to see the patttern of gimmicks rolling with Dragonsworns over here.

Little monsters tag into actual dragons of high (but differing, it looks like) Levels at the start of the Battle Phase, then revert to normal when the Phase ends. S'almost like Glad Beasts, but they work on both ends of the Battle Phase. Also, they've got on-Summon effects not dependent on being Summoned by other Archetype members, a downside that's hampering the Glad Beasts, Witchcrafters, and Dream Mirror at current.

Fusion-centric, too: so that'll make this Deck Build pack the first to not incorporate Links in any of its major 3 original Archetypes, which is...a nice change, I think? Now they have to use what the format gives them if they're so obsessed with opening zones. Plus, if the Fusions are generic enough (and I believe what @~British Soul~ is saying in thinking the cover card's one of them), Super Poly can make a debut to help them out.

Also, Dragon Fusions that aren't Starving Orcustspurners or Borreload Furious in the format:

giphy.gif

Won't be handing out ratings until the full set's out, but its already ticking several forms of originality with what we're seeing. Also, P.S., @@Tinkerer, mill Decks may only need one or two backrow if the rest of the support holds out: Lightsworns proved that with their all of two good Spells before (Solar Recharge and Charge of the Light Brigade) and they didn't even have the Archetype name in their names, or have oodles of support in the second most broken Link-centric Archetype behind Knightmares. I think the Dragonmaids can work fine with what they've got - especially with the gimmick they're showing.

Until the full set drops, then, folks and folkettes.

Exactly, the aim is to tag out at the start of your BP to return the level 3 to your hand and revive the level 8(, then you battle with it), afterwards at the end of your BP you return the level 8 to resummon the level 3 from your hand and Tag out for another copy of the level 8 at the start of the opponent's BP and end with both the level 8 (for its discard effect) and the level 3 in your hand, as well as a copy of the level 8 on your side of the field.

I hadn't seen it could be use in either Battle Phase, that does open up some more combos I suppose. I guess they wanted to keep the GY summons a bit limited since you can easily send stuff, tag out, send more stuff, Special Summon from the GY, and so on, but right now they do form a neat little play with just two cards.

The funk now they have fusion gimmick?

WAIT WHATS IT ALSO REASON ALTERNATE FGD REPRINT WE GOT SEVERAL MONTHS AGO!?

Errhemmm...sorry

Parla is arch-bounded Armageddon Knight, so thats good

Luft here seems decent. nice "negation" effect, strong body, and protection...although we need to know how good the inclusion of Fusion in deck building, atleast it work on any kind of fusion so Guardragon mix is a must.

(Yeah, that's... exactly what I was trying to imply with my post)

Anyways, I was specifically waiting to see how good the WIND monsters were gonna be considering Dragon Ruler of Storms, but it's actually still pretty difficult to gauge.

Honestly, I did have a feeling that the "maid forms" would have different levels, but the "Dragon forms" also having different levels threw me off completely. It's a pretty neat twist if I'm honest.

[spoiler Potential info based on reveals]

It seems like the maid and dragon forms will share the same DEF. The maids might all cap out at 500 ATK, but that doesn't "feel" as definite.

If all of the Dragon forms are specifically 5 levels higher than the maid forms, then we've seen all the main deck members in hospitality (revealing the level 2 specifically was pretty clever since one could've made an argument for there being 1 maid per attribute and one just wasn't shown).

As a personal hope, I just want the FIRE maid/Dragon to have 200 DEF...

As for deck building I know, I know it's still too early, but I get pretty hyped on card reveals, ok?, maybe Inferno Reckless Summon? Since the Dragon forms tag out into the maid forms at the end of the battle phase, you should have some control over what monsters your opponent has left. Even though links don't appear to be what the deck focuses on, you cannot deny how useful they'd be for building a strong board.
