Why Winged Rhynos will NEVER replace Wildheart

Winged Rhynos

Beast-Warrior

ATK/1800 DEF/500

When a trap card is activated, you can return this face-up card from the field to it's owner's hand.

How it works:

"Winged Rhynos" effect is a Multi-Trigger effect. It can be chained when a Trap Card is activated.

Naturally this places it at Spell Speed 2, so it cannot be chained when a player activates a Counter Trap Card.

When the effect is resolved, "Winged Rhynos" is returned to its owner's hand.

--------

Ok, so some people I've talked to see potential in this card, and while it is not a bad card I fear those who believe Wildheart has seen his last days are sorely mistaken.

1. Wildheart can be fetched by Sangan, stratos, rat ect. Rhynos is near unsearchable.

2. Wildheart is immune to traps, Rhynos just dodges ONE, and goes back to your hand. If your in a tight spot, your opponent has a BTH/ROD/Mirror force/ect. set you could A. summon wildheart, be safe and attack(Assuming your in a position to do so), or B. Summon Rhynos, get holed, mirrored ect. Your fields empty and its their turn.

3. Wildheart combos, namely torrential tribute fail here, as even if you have an empty field, summon Rhynos, and blow up monsters he's back to your hand and your fields vacant, though this can work on your opponent's turn(Though wild+TT is still better 100% of the time).

Mind you this card still has uses, eg. It + Pineapple blast=Pooned(but still Wildheart and TT is better -.-). It could be very nice in a winged beast/beast deck. It's got 300 ATK on wild, but if your not running shrinks anyways thats not gonna make a huge difference. One thing thats positive in all respects is that it clears traps out(if your opponent decides to activate and send him back to your hand) and saves your monsters later on.

Discuss.

W.R can give you a +1 when it attacks your opponent. E.G: If they need the LP, they have to waste a trap to try and kill it when it'll just return to your hand.

With wildheart, your opponent will NOT use traps when it attacks unless there's 2 or more monsters on your field for your opponent to Mirror Force etc.

They're both good in their own ways. I've played against a great W.R sorta deck and got crippled and lost, basically, I couldn't keep more than 1 monster on the field at a time, and even they go thrashed.

But I have only lost one match to a deck containing wildhearts.

Sart, Mirror force cant be activated in response to a wildheart attack(Attack has to be negated for secondary effect to trigger).

You seem to know the game well, so losing to W.R is possible, as you've familiarized yourself with facing different cards, namely wildheart in this case.

As addressed I do see your point about W.R, but even though its a +1 you lose field prescence, and chances are if you need life points that badly, wildheart would hurt just as much. After all why give your opponent the option to -1 and not lose as opposed to just outright losing.

Yeah, I know the game pretty much inside out =[

I was tired when typing that so I forgot about the MF and Wildheart thing xD

But yeah, you have a point, but in ygo advantage wins games and a -1 when your opponent's nearly dead might as well be a loss for them.

WR is a beast, if you have YVD, I can hook you up with this guy who's WR build is awesome, just so you can play against one of the best players using it =]

Mirror Force does not negate any attacks, it just destroys all monsters in Attack Position, it was errated a while ago.

And also, here's a ruling on Mirror Force, which also shows how it works with Wildheart:

[Re: Elemental Hero Wildheart] If you attack with "Elemental Hero Wildheart" and the opponent activates "Widespread Ruin", if "Elemental Hero Wildheart" is your monster with the highest ATK, no monster will be destroyed by the effect of "Widespread Ruin". If the opponent activates "Mirror Force", "Elemental Hero Wildheart" will not be destroyed, but all your other Attack Position monsters will be destroyed. If the opponent activates "Negate Attack", his attack will not be negated, and the Battle Phase will not end. If the opponent activates Magic Cylinder", his attack will not be negated and no Effect Damage will be dealt.

Back on Topic, Winged Rhino is still a good card for Beast decks, seeing as Enraged Battle Ox can give it trample. Both WR and Wildheart have their pro's and con's, and I'd say in the right decks, they're both equal.
