S N O R E
Performapals may just be THE most over saturated archetype in all of Yu-Gi-Oh. Every week is a new shitty non-Pendulum Level 5+ monster that no-one's ever gonna use. These bloody things are starting to feel like Roman Reigns. They keep getting pushed and shoved down our throats, and although they were pretty badass to begin with, they've just gotten stale.
There haven’t been Ppals in months. This is a promo from the manga.
That isn’t being pushed or shoved. They’re not getting game original support like HERO. Not nearly as pushed as Utopia. They’re getting their remaining cards slowly printed.
They didn’t even get support in this year’s premium pack. Screwed over by White Fish.

I will readily admit cow has done more behind the scenes work. He’s trying his best to do spring cleaning (early-ass overachiever smh), and I’m not as active in that regard. I’ve raised a few concerns and chipped in a bit, but Cow is almost the lifeblood of the mod forum atm. Almost.

You seem good enough, Black. I love how involved you are.
Cow is great too but I have my concerns with how long he can keep up this sort of investment. Extremely high initial investment has been the downfall of a lot of mods I've seen. (EDIT: and I know exactly why, too, and will gladly explain if asked to)
Both of you are good enough either way- for now.
Yeah, you both have been doing pretty well.
I've been a little busy these past 2 or so weeks but whenever I lurk around I see you two around.
The "which mods are online" box also shows either of you at pretty much all times, no matter if I'm up in the early afternoon or trying to fall asleep at 2 in the morning.
From Cow puns to the Member Brawl event, it's all been good so far. Well... most puns.
Y'all both get As across the board.
Quite honestly, the two of you are the best mods on the entire team.
You are both extremely active, as has been mentioned, making you a constant representation of the staff for the member base, and actively reach out to assist members in whatever issues they may have, whether they are new or a veteran.
While some other mods share sentiments of wanting to improve the forum, mod/member relations, and the general atmosphere of YCM, the two of you have pushed forward with an intensity that is positively unheard of in modern times. In the past, mods who were criticized for not taking an active role in change used a defense along the lines of "there just isn't much to do". The two of you have proven that sentiment false. You have sought ways to improve on known issues, and even worked to find ways to help YCM that nobody had thought of before. You have refused to become complacent with how things are, and strove toward making this a better place to be.
You both have been incredibly professional and respectful, even in the face of blatant antagonism. Being able to handle one's emotions and move past personal grievances for the good of the site is an important trait, and one that I personally believe much of the team lacks.
Black and CowCow perfectly exemplify why the mod election was brought about, and have delivered upon the promises they made while moving even further beyond them to perform at a level the mod team had previously denied was possible.
I try to keep an eye on the site, even if I'm at work. I wanna know what's going on so that I can address it or enjoy it when I have some free time, or when I'm not doing things with the gfs.
I'll continue to do my best moving forward, entertaining everyone and listening to what they have to say, when they come to me. As I said before, I'm not the PR Mod, but I do want to be on the side of the members, to listen to and speak for them.
If I fuck around with your profiles for fun, provided you consent, that's a cherry on top!

I don't know you very well at all tbh despite how long you've been around.
But I do enjoy whenever you post and you seem to be smart...wish I had more to say but...
Well there is that I legit think that you're an important part of the forum despite your lack of general activity, when you have something to say it's usually worthwhile.

It's here, the moment you've all been waiting for! The Top 8 for the YMB, what they've won, and shiny awards made by @Tormented!
Each of these members will receive 5000 points!
For coming in 4th, Parenthesis will receive 10000 points!
Like Parenthesis, 3rd place earns mido 10000 points!
For making it to just shy of the top, Yui will be given a huge 25000 points!
And for our winner, Hina will receive a whopping 50000 points!
Congratulations to all of you for making it so far! And I hope those of you who didn't make it to this point may fare better in the future!
What's that? You want to know why this post is in News, instead of the YMB thread in polls? That's a very good question, random YCMember!
That's because this is also being used to cover some upcoming events, and a general theme for some of the upcoming events!
Coming in March, our very own super moderator, Sakura, will be hosting this year's Easter Event! Like previous years, it will be a scavenger hunt, so do your best to hunt down those eggs!
But after that, things get even more exciting! The YMB returns... but this time there's a twist! What will it be?! Who will be eligible?! Well... why don't I give you a hint?
2018 is the first year to have a theme for (most of) its events! Yes, this is the Year of Stars! More details will come with the events coming up,
This theme will stick through the two most notable events after Easter, the YCM Awards and the Halloween Masquerade! The host of the Awards will give you some further details about the kinds of monsters that will be joining us this year, so try to figure out what that spectacular, splendiferous entertainer will tell you, if you choose to welcome a monster to your account!
We're near the end, but I'll also note that the community calendar will be in use for the events, to mark the beginning an ending of each event, once details are available.
So a quick rundown:
Ah, yes, that last bullet should be touched on.
If you wish to host a large scale event, pitch it to me! Or the mod team at large, if you'd rather. I will work with you to get it off the ground if the idea is sound enough, or give you thoughts towards making it so. However, please be aware that not every pitch can or will be accepted, as we don't want too many things happening at a time.
And we may see other events, such as Thanksgiving or Christmas themed ones that apply to the site as a whole!
For now, I leave you speculating the "Year of Stars"... and giving congratulations to our fantabulous winners! A round of applause for these outstanding individuals!

Hate to double post, but IT IS TIME
Brought this up after I saw a guy use it in D/D, because I didn't even realize that it existed. I was wondering when it could potentially be relevant, and that time could be now.
The lesser interaction is with Lilith, because it gives her an extra body to sack while maintaining her 2000 ATK, which does give it a potential edge over cards that similarly SS themselves. (you can also TGU into a 2k beater now?)
The more important one is with Afrima (henceforth doggo). If doggo tributes something other than itself, like Ghost, you get to search Diabolos... Who, unless I'm mistaken, benefits from the Stick/Chair ruling. This means that you can just turn Ghost into Diabolos from the deck, who can just sack doggo in order to fuck with your opp's hand. Probably a Main Phase 2 thing.
It's also a Crush Card target, if that's relevant.

When a card or effect is activated that targets an "Altergeist" monster(s) you control (except during the Damage Step): You can tribute this card; negate that effect, and if you do, banish that card. If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can add 1 "Altergeist" card from your Deck to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Altergeist Ifriwall" once per turn.
Link 1 (D)
1 "Altergeist" monster
You can tribute 1 "Altergeist" monster linked to this card; add 1 "Altergeist" card from your Deck to your hand. If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 mosnter your opponent controls: Until the end of the turn, its effects are negated and its ATK becomes 0. You can only use each effect of "Altergeist Emparsa" once per turn.
Special Summon this card as an Effect Monster (Spellcaster/DARK/Level 5/ATK 1200/DEF 2500). (This card is also still a Trap.) If Summoned this way, each time your opponent activates a card or effect, inflict 500 damage to your opponent immediately after it resolves.
First up we have Ifriwall, which is a play on Ifrit + Firewall. Ifrits are often associated with being fire jinns/demons, so mixing it with Firewall seemed like the best way to go about a more defensive effect.
General design is meant to be a utility searcher for your traps, which is often more important than searching your monsters through Meluseek, with some added protective capability if you have Silqitous set up already. That said, I decided to not let it be a more general blanket protection/battle protection because the deck lacks anything of the sort, so being able to punch it seems like a fair design space to leave open, considering the deck should be stopping you if it's performing at its best, anyway.
Then there's Emparsa, which is Empusa + Parse. Described as a 1-legged phantasm that seduces men, this card does sacrifice its allies for advantage, and it's can't do much on its own as a Link 1 with 100 ATK... except, y'know, enable your float effects and fix your positioning.
It also drags an opponent's monster down to the grave with it, attempting to help the deck's weakness with big monsters. It doesn't fix the issue that is Borreload, but hey, it's fine to have some outs to a deck, and you still can force Borreload out with some effort.
Finally, Aggrabat is meant to be Aggravate + Agrat bat Mahlat. Not bat or acrobat, surprisingly.
This one is mostly just me wanting to make a trap monster. The burn can be annoying, but if it's coreographed via a search/Marionetter, it's not going to get the opp too hard. It's a nice ass, tho, and a decent target for Silqitous to bounce.
Overall, not meant to be too revolutionary, but a solid round of enablers and options.
