#7110810 Super Smash Bros Ultimate

But Bayo receiving the most votes doesn’t mean she got in due to the poll.

Supposedly, she was already planned pre-poll as a fighter/DLC if time ran short. Being the winner =/= getting in due to the poll.

But, why Bayo? They have tons of options for possible characters, both in and outside of Nintendo. What would have made Bayo be the one they planned on putting in. Also, what would have happened in other characters had done better in the polls? I mean yea, Nintendo could lie, but working from that assumption makes it so you never have any ground to stand on since anyone can lie to us about literally everything. And this also begs the question, why create a poll saying it was for a Smash 4 character when that was never the goal?

Am I the only person who thinks some of the more neglected Nintendo stars should have a Smash Bros fighter? I know that they do this for a lot of things, but some characters, notably Mike Jones from StarTropics, don't even get a trophy, and I wish they would recognize these kinds of forgotten gems.

Thats the thing about forgotten gems, Smash DOES recognize a TON of smaller gems. It sucks when the one that is near and dear to you isn't one of them, but Sakurai loves his off the beaten path characters. Its is like a decent part of why the retro trio is in. All I can really say is that it is very possible for someone like Mike Jones to show up. Though, from the VERY little I just looked up about the franchise, it was designed without plans for it to make it to Japan and that would certainly hurt its chances.

I don't see what Nintendo was trying to accomplish by making final smashes shorter and completely reworking transformation smashes like Fox's and Sonic's. If they are trying to cater to the hyper competitive tournament crowd they are wasting their time IMO since those people always insist that stage hazards and more importantly, all items be off.

One of Mark Rosewater's ideologies for game design is a game should end before the players want them to end. Put another way, it is important to not overstay your welcome. This change is likely coming form that. By removing them it improves the pace of the game and lets people get right back into the action.

Protoman was confirmed to be in Megaman's final smash, along with Bass. He's not happening.
That said... Knuckles the Enchiluperito is an assist trophy now, so Shadow might be playable...?

I mean, another person of Protoman could make it. Though I'd put the odds of that at not even 1%.

Shadow being playable all depends on whether he's still gonna be an Assist Trophy or not tbph.
Though I still think we may still get an Arms rep here if not in the main roster or as DLC, though a part of me will probs be on the fence.

I feel of all my wants, Springman (or any Arms character) is a safe bet.

my dreams of Ray MK being a playable character are crushed every time :(

still hype regardless though.

I'd be super down for Ray to be playable. With the number of mechs showing up in Nintendo games of late Smash needs one.

My Hot Take: Look, some characters are going to need to be cut
Sakuri: Anime laugh

I'm interested in Brawl purely because it lets me use the nonsense I keep after draft and because a friend recently started and I figured a Brawl deck is also a standard deck and that is a solid thing to use to play against someone starting out. My LGS is thinking about doing Brawl events, but I haven't heard anything past that.

With the last chapter I was ready for the arc to end, and not only did it end holy crap was this an insanely good chapter. Not 1, not 2, but 3 shots to the heart over the course of the chapter. Between that and the song interwoven throughout this was not only an exception chapter but an amazing way to end off what is, in my opinion, one of the best arcs in One Piece.

Yea, the aggressive decks are out in force right now. Thinking of putting Doomsayer into Elemental Mage just to have a way to fight against them.

In other news, just opened a pack and got Darius Crowley, Nightmare Amalgam, Book of Specters (#4 wth game), and Sandbinder. That was a good pack.

Also, got a Priest daily quest so tried brewing a Dragon Priest list

Look, new card. Seems pretty decent. If only it wasn't random this would be a slam dunk for Grenzo.

Night has not said anything since his post.

I had said in the mod forum I was giving Night until the end of the month to say what ever it is he wish to say before demodding him (this was before his post). This has not changed. By months end he will be demodded regardless of what he does on his end.

@ Flame Dragon
Imma start editing your posts with "I actually think One Piece is trash" in invis text.  YOU WANNA GO TO WAR?

If we fight, only one of us will be getting burned, and trust me, it isn't the fire type.

Anyone mind if I post the leaked cards?

Just use spoiler tags if you do.

Can we get a solid date for this? It seems that absolutely no one is disputing this or begging for Night to be kept on the team, and it seems that we actually do have a consensus that he should be removed from the team. If that's the case, then just get it over with already.

Based on his last post on the forum he is planning to step down and personally I'd rather he leave on his own terms than us kicking him out.

And since I probably should address this

Flame Dragon: I like you, I really do, but you're not on. I mean, you are, but you aren't HERE. In these threads, talking to us. You come in now and then with a comment and two, and that's about it. If you're busy, then seriously, focus on your life. It's more important than this forum.
I know most people want you as head mod, and I probably would be okay with that. I'm doing you more so out of fairness, and if you are becoming a head mod, you have even more scrutiny needed.

The forum has been a lot more relaxed this year so far compared to last so I've kind of been letting things play out as they will. As Cow said, if something important comes up for me to weigh in on I do, but things aren't really exploding atm.

For the topic at hand.

I like having the sections simply so members know who to go to if they have an issue with something in any one section. Past that, they are pretty outdated. I feel like I've said this publicly before, but just to say it again, back when I became a mod, mods were limited to their section. When I was the Video Game mod I couldn't do things in sections behind it. Supers were the ones that could moderate anywhere. When Pika changed everything around all mods basically became supers and supers were given increased access to the Admin CP.

Since I am the main/only candidate for head moderator I'll just say I'm fine with the idea. While it was never a specific label we've basically always had someone on the team who acted as the lead.

For the stuff about Birdie

I think I brought this up when this was originally brought up, but I think it just got lost in the shuffle. While I try to make a point to follow the important topics in the mod forum and follow the section (though I feel like I don't always get notifications for new topics) generally I only keep up with the ones where I post so I most certainly have blind spots. I know for sure this happened with Cow since it was brought up having him become a mod last year and it was only after he poked me that I actually got the decision moving forward again. My guess is something similar happened with Birdie. My guess is Cow would have the best idea if thats right since he went through the forum and would have seen what actually happened with it.
