Magicians...since the dawn of time we've enjoyed watching them preform tricks and illusions for our entertainment. Though there were many instances where these respectable magicians used their tricks and illusions to commit crimes...however no one ever found out about them doing this, as they planned ahead and hid their true identities.

But something greater appeared on the scene than the petty thefts that these magicians were pulling off...the greatest score in the world. A unique set of cards known as "Merlin's Suit": an Ace of Spades, Ace of Diamonds, Ace of Clubs, and Ace of Hearts. However, these cards were just the tip of the iceberg...for each of these four cards came with a matching gem: the Emerald Spade, the Sapphire Diamond, the Amethyst Club, and finally the Ruby Heart. These were rumored in legend that if these Aces and Gems were together, respectively, it would grant the holder a great power. Though if they were brought together, they would reveal the hidden key within a different gem. If they found this key and brought it with the Suit, they could open the hidden gate and reveal a place known only as Pandora. Its unknown what Pandora will hold to those who open it, but the legend was also told that the last Magicians who gathered these items together were never seen again. And as they arrived in Nakama City, a small war between these "Magician Thieves", as they were called, emerged. It took months before this war was put to rest, only one card and gem was missing from the set of four: the Ace of Spades and the Emerald Spade. Where the other cards and gems were, no one really knew, but they knew exactly who had the Spade: Kaitou Kid.

Kaitou Kid, a magician thief that was brought to life from the pages of Gosho Aoyoma's mangas Detective Conan and Magic Kaito, had possession of the Spade and used it to aid him when he could. However, his reign as the top thief wasn't around for too long, until his mysterious disappearance...along with the death of famous magician: Renji Asano. During his last show, he was murdered on stage by a mysterious assailant...leaving his wife and child alone within the world. And with Kaitou Kid's disappearance, many others have stepped up to make their marks in society, while leading their normal lives with the unsuspecting citizens within the city.

That incident was thirteen years ago, and now things are gonna get hectic...as the son of the fallen magician begins to learn the truth about what happened and how he'll make things right! So get ready to either help out the new thief on the block or knock him down! Whatever you do, just don't let the cops or detectives get ya!

Now let's start the show!!

kaito_kid_signature-svg_.png
"I'll find out the truth on what happened, dad. Time to start the show!!"

Personal Information
Name: Kaito Asano
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Carefree and flirty, just two of the many things that make Kaito who he is. This kind hearted teen is always being somewhat of a gentleman to the ladies he comes in contact with(when he isn't being such a little perv), while being a normal guy who just likes making people smile. Whether he decides to do a small card trick or make roses appear in his hand, Kaito does everything he can just to see those around him smile. He's a very bold person, wanting to speak his mind about anything that people discuss, a sort of "I'm giving you my two cents whether you want it or not!" type feeling to it. With a strong determination in his soul/heart/etc, Kaito proves to others that there isn't anything he won't do. And giving up? Well that word is no where in his vocabulary. Though, when he isn't busy flirting or being chased off by girls who he's peeped on, Kaito takes being a magician/helping his friends very seriously.

Kaito Asano, some could say he was born straight into the magician game thanks to his world renown father Renji Asano. He loved his father and one day wanted to be just like him...how right he would be to feel this way. But fate had it where Renji wouldn't be able to see this happen. On December 14th, the incident happened: Renji Asano, during his last showing was murdered by an assailant, which turned Kaito's world upside down forever.

For young Kaito, it was hard to grow up without a father to show him how to live...but he managed. He just kept practicing his magic tricks, feeling that if he kept that up his father would be there watching him as he preformed them. He had his mom watching him, that was alright...but he just felt like his dad's approval was all he really needed, so with each trick he preformed he always asked "How was that dad?". Through time, Kaito grew older and kept working on his magic tricks, wanting to follow in his father's footsteps even more now. However, the time was perfect as his curiosity was peeked when he decided to rummage through his father's old office...to see if he could learn some more magic tricks. He found something more amazing...

A small ladder leading to an attic he never knew existed...Kaito climbed up it. There is where he found a room like nothing he ever saw: a tech-looking office with newspaper clippings that read: "Kaitou Kid Strikes Again!", "The Phantom Thief Takes Place in 'The War of Aces'!", and many more. His father, Renji Asano was indeed Kaitou Kid. Then by an old mannequin that wore Kaitou Kid's attire, there was a note addressed to Kaito. Upon reading this he discovered that his father was wanting to show him this when he was older, but if he was reading this, never got the chance. It even mentioned that if he was dead, it was the result of a small group that were looking for all of Merlin's Suits. This proved one thing: Renji wasn't just killed for no reason...he was killed for what he had!

Now donning his father's mantle, Kaito Asano now takes his place as Kaitou Kid II to find the rest of these Suits and even the group that killed his father.
Magician Information
Magician Thief Name: Kaitou Kid (AKA: The Phantom Thief Kid)
Kiddo.jpg
The main appearance is kept, but there are some changes to this outfit. His top hat is replaced with a snowy white fedora with a light blue band around it. And around his waist, his pants are held up by a belt buckle that has the Ace of Spades and Emerald Spade fastened onto it.

Card Gun: An unusual gun that fires playing cards at a rapid speed instead of bullets.

Hanglider Cape: The cape part of Kid's outfit doubles as a getaway hang glider, relying on the air currents to allow Kid to escape safely.

Merlin's Suit ~ Ace of Spades & Emerald Spade: One of four that was part of Merlin's Suit. It rests nicely on Kaito's belt buckle, allowing him to manipulate the wind and give him temporary healing on his wounds.

Aero Gust: Kaito summons up a gust of wind. Depending on the moment, the strength of these gusts can increase or decrease. With a decreased gust, Kaito uses it to escape thanks to his Hanglider Cape and even use it to propel his Card Gun's shots faster toward his opponents. With a stronger gust, his opponents could get knocked back no problem.

Aero Bullets: In most times, Kaito switches out the Card Gun ammo with nothing, allowing him to use the air around him. With this, when he pulls the trigger the air inside the gun and the air around the barrel shoot out a very effective air bullet.

Aero Barrier: As its name suggests, enough wind is summoned forth as it creates a dome barrier surrounding Kaito. It is bulletproof, but with enough shots fired the barrier will begin to weaken.

The Spade's Healing: When enough is enough and Kaito has taken too much damage, he calls for the Ace of Spade's healing ability. If he can be undisturbed for a long enough period of time, his wounds can be fully healed. If not, then they'll only be partially healed.
Other Information
Kaito's Theme & Kaitou Kid's Theme
-Kaito means "Ocean and sake dipper", while Asano means "Shallow plain".
-His favorite pick up/flirt line is after he flips up a "Queen of Hearts" card - "This is how I picture you. The queen of my heart." or "Your The Queen....and you've stolen my heart."
-His favorite food is sushi and anything dealing with fish (This is play on the fact that the Kaitou Kid from Magic Kaito hates fish)
irXec.png
"What happens when the unstoppable force meets the immovable object? Let's find out...!"

Personal Information
Name: Nobuo Schwarzblitz
Age: 47
Gender: Male
Nobuo was an idealistic man whom believed in the possibility of Utopia. He was a firm believer in the potential for humanity to be able to reach, all in all, a moral zenith in the universe. This was during his time in Priesthood, whereby he had ascended to the ranks of an Abbot of an Abbey in the United Kingdom. The half-Japanese, half-German Priest still holds onto a sympathetic, kind, and stoic personality which he had been conditioned into being a Priest, and can easily engage with people regarding such delicate and tender issues. Consequentially, he's often found as a reliable source to confide in, and a pillar of strength.

However, due to events in his life, he had been expelled from his order on the grounds of Witchcraft. Shunned from Churches of the United Kingdom, word swiftly had spread. Upon arriving in Japan, Nobuo had acquired a lacking in belief for humanity on the whole, and found only a select few would be capable of reaching absolute morality. This certainly acted as a contributory factor to his career as a thief when under the guise of night.

When engaged in combat under the alias of the Heretic, he becomes notably more aggressive, which contradicts his normal behaviour, that being calm, collected, and balanced. Only after a few hits would he engage in this split personality. The Heretic is, easily, Nobuo's second face.

Split personality is the most apt name for the Heretic. Being forged from a Messiah Complex after having, what he called a religious experience from God in which he was blessed with "Almighty power" and "the true hand of judgement of man" Nobuo's Heretic personality can be condescending and very demeaning. Rumour has it from words alone he is capable of driving the heart of man to suicide, reflecting a Dark Nature in this half of Nobuo.

Nobuo is a half-German on his father's side, however found more opportunity to follow his aspirations of joining the Clergy in the United Kingdom. He was a natural, he seemed to do just so damn well in his studies. Pious, and a sincerely nice person, Nobuo prospered wonderfully as a priest. It was believed his name was changed to Norman during his time in the United Kingdom to give off a more European vibe regarding social expectations, however all in all Nobuo was accepted as a wonderful Priest. He swiftly decided to work on the path as an Abbot of the Monastery he studied in, and did so with such natural grace, Nobuo's faith was made apparent as one of his most powerful strengths.

However, what he regards as his greatest success may have very well brought his downfall.

He underwent what he described as a Religious Experience. With that, Nobuo portrayed this to his fellow clergymen, namely the power of Electrokinesis. Of course, it wasn't unreasonable for his fellow men to initially believe this was the Devil's work, and a failed exorcism had once settled this worry, Nobuo's development of his Messiah Complex, to create an ideal Utopia, began to consume him. It took this for his Clergymen to have a Bishop see, and later banish the man from the Clergy, and in doing so certainly grounded Nobuo. This event, in which he lost his path, forced the wicked believer, the Heretic, into the back of his mind; but it was not for one second dead.

Returning to Japan, namely his mother, Nobuo took back his name, and took work as a social helper in Nakama City, but soon became involved with the Magical Thieves, for his powers would bring him to his destiny one way or another. Nobuo swiftly began to practice, and later master, his Electrokinesis power and used it well, especially when regarding a rivalry with the Kaitou Kid, a magical thief who had disappeared 13 years ago before the events that will come. A vicious rival to the Kid, mainly becomes of his powerful and adverse move set. However, this was not as fellow Thieves, but rather Nobuo's drive to kill all Magical Thieves in Nakama City.

Having heard of the disappearance, Nobuo was curious why Kaitou Kid had vanished, but hearing rumors of a second had given rise to this old goal. With this, Nobuo continues to strive to vanquish all Magical Thieves as the Heretic, obviously. The Heretic's nature has been getting more aggressive, and after having began to kill a few ruffians and criminals that crossed his path, he's only been getting stronger, and ready to "save Nakama City" to turn it into a Moral Utopia.
Magician Information
Magician Thief Name: Heretic
5htrN.png
There exists two sole differences between Nobuo's usual state, and when he undergoes the masquerade of Heretic. Firstly, his usually straight blonde hair becomes spiky upon its tips, indicating a more radical attitude within this new persona. Secondly, the pigmentation in his eyes invert, in which his pupils turn white, and his sclera turns black, asserting a wicked side to the Priest.

Mantel des Gottes: This would refer to Heretic's shawl. Unfastening the buttons, Heretic can hold it in one hand and thrash it about, as this Shroud provides both warmth, as well as absolute invulnerability from Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth projectiles; it isn't named the Cloak of God for no reason.

Heretic organizes his Tricks in stances, whereby he uses a different stance regarding as to which powers he will use. Currently he only hold two, because only recently has he began to engage in the manipulation of purely light energy.

Thundering Stance:
Heretic's most offensive battle stance of his two, as well as the most advanced, is the Thundering Stance. In this stance, Heretic can make vivid use of his Electrokinetic abilities, able to wield electricity as he pleases. His use of the element is usually destructive, however despite their limits, he can make prompt use of electricity in a constructive context.

Attack Techniques:
> Thunder Bolt Ein
Heretic releases a bolt of lightning from his hand towards his opponent, his most basic attack, which has shown to have significant force in itself, its potential harm being that of a firearm's.

> Thunder Bolt Zwei
Heretic launches a constant stream of lightning from his hand, or both, at an opponent. Having not much different properties to Ein other than its base strength, Zwei also has the capability to chain itself from the target to another single target if they're close enough.

Because of this chain lightning effect, Heretic makes use of an execution technique whereby, should his foe be too close to an electric distributor, he will swiftly have Zwei connect with the machine, which in turn would introduce a fatal level of voltage upon the victim.

> Thunder Bolt Drei
Heretic unleashes a bolt of chain lightning from his hand, which forks into three different currents, each though firing at random, can inflict damage stronger to that of Zwei.

Of course, should all two, or even three of the bolts by rare chance catch the same victim (chances increased due to metal exposure and electromagnetism) the damage Drei inflicts is double and tripled respectively.

> Thunder Bolt Sphere
Heretic lobs a sphere of electrical energy which releases an explosion of electricity upon impact. Roughly as strong as two grenade explosions, its evidently Heretic's anti-heavy trick.

> Thunder Bolt Omega
Heretic's strongest base lightning attack. Heretic radiates electricity around his body, which becomes so strong as to be visible. After such, he "throws" a powerful wave of electricity towards his target, which acts as a net, in that the wave of electricity snares around and envelopes its target, inflicting electric damage. This damage is very heavy, being greater than that of Sphere.

> Black Lightning
Heretic's most powerful electric attack. Charging an enormous level of electricity into his arm, the lightning becomes visible and swiftly turns a ominous black color. Heretic then fires this attack as he would Ein, but the damage is vastly stronger, capable of flooring a two story building with its aftershock alone.

Heretic rarely has enough electricity on his person to use this attack. He often resorts to using his environment in order to unleash this attack.

Defense Techniques:
> Absolute Electrical Immunity
Being a lightning user, Heretic is completely immune from any harm caused by electrical particles. Rather, he is further empowered by the resource. Lightning used against him is heavily ill-advised.

> Bolt Barrier
A parry-based defensive trick, Heretic deflects an oncoming melee attack with a bolt of lightning. This, by no means, stops the attack; however, the lightning bolt would make proceeding the melee attack painful upon both behalves.

Support Techniques:
> De-fibrillation
Heretic delivers a therapeutic dose of electrical energy to hearts suffering cardiac dysrhythmia, especially cardiac arrest. This technique allows Heretic to resume a heart's normal heartbeat rate, and can be a life saving technique.

> Recharge
Heretic transfers his own electrical powers into a suitable storage unit, which allows him to store it more effectively.

Enlightened Stance:
Heretic's defensive fighting stance is the Enlightened Stance. He brought this stance into being after having mastered separating light energy from electricity. Because he has only recently developed this trick, he has no offensive tricks, but solely one defensive and one supportive.
Attack Techniques:
> n/a

Defense Techniques:
> Flash Bang
Heretic releases a charge of highly concentrated, potentially blinding light energy and drops it to the ground, in order to create both a smokescreen to flee within as well as a swift way to lower an adversary's countering probabilities.

Support Techniques:
> Torch Light
Heretic radiates prominent light energy from his fingers, which acts easily as a torch when needed.

Personal Information

Name: Takeshi Masuda

Age: 18

Gender: Male
Takeshi is quite the eloquent charmer. Always well groomed and sophisticated, he is the epitome of chivalry and respect. He loves the beauty of the world, and does not hesitate to comment on it. He does not get along with males his own age. This stems from the fact that he sees himself much too mature for their neanderthal-like behavior and the notion that many of his peers have that he is a 'queer'. Their idea comes from Takeshi's elegant manner, making many believe that he is either a brown-noser or a homosexual. Takeshi often gets into confrontations with youthful males, but usually manages to escape with an illusion or slight of hand. Due to Takeshi's gentlemanly attitude, women often flock to him. He enjoys this attention greatly and does not hesitate to flaunt his magical talents.

Beneath Takeshi's charming and chivalrous exterior is a desire to capture the beauty in all things. As said above, he sees the beauty in everything in the world. But his main infatuation is in that of priceless gems and precious metals. He is quite the accomplished thief, gaining several nicknames from the public. Takeshi does his best to not harm anyone that gets in the way, but if his identity is at risk, then he must set moral qualms aside and do what is in the best interest for himself.

Takeshi grew up in a very rich family. He never really had to worry about anything. He was taught the niceties of life and how to behave like a gentleman. Often his parents were out on business and as such he was raised mostly by the staff at the Masuda family mansion. Their buttler, Isamu Kiyoshi, became like a father to him. He taught Takeshi how to treat a lady and how to spot the beauty in everything.

As well as being a family servant, Isamu dabbled in magic. In his younger years he had been a street magician, performing for random passerby with a handful of decent tricks. Isamu taught Takeshi magic, he taught him the power of illusion and misdirection. It was during one of their lessons that Isamu revealed the legend of the Merlin's Suits. Takeshi was enthralled with the idea of gems so beautiful that they could bend the fabric of reality. He told Isamu that he just had to have them. If he could just see their glory then he would truly be able to appreciate the beauty in the rest of the world. The old man's eyes gave off a light twinkle at hearing those words, but said no more on the subject.

Takeshi grew older, and so did Isamu. Their lessons had long since stopped, Isamu becoming too old and ill to be able to move like he once could. However, their bond remained strong. They would talk for hours on end, Isamu telling stories of his past and Takeshi updating the old man on the happenings of the world. It was a Tuesday when Isamu died. Everyone knew that it was coming, but it still hit Takeshi hard. But, prior to his passing, Isamu had given up his last secret. He had bequeathed unto Takeshi his greatest treasure. A beauty that the world had only caught glimpses of. The Ruby Heart.

sqtkBTK.jpg

This is more or less Takeshi's appearance. His eyes aren't quite as hard or malevolent looking, likewise they are a light purple color. Takeshi does not don the sword in public, at least not openly. Disguised as a cane, Takeshi is able to transform it back into the sword with a flick of his wrist. The Ruby Heart is in the hilt of the sword, and when in the cane form is the head of the cane, although it lacks the same luster it has when not disguised. Up Takeshi's sleeve is a deck of cards and in the other is his Ace of Hearts.

Magician Information

Magician Name: The Lonesome Rose(Born from his calling card, a single rose left in place of whatever was stolen)
Takeshi's Magician Thief appearance is much the same as his normal appearance. With an addition of a small mask that surrounds the portion of his face around his eyes as well as a top hat that casts a shadow to shroud his features. His sword is usually present as well, although preferably sheathed at his side.

Rose's Thorn- This is the sword that Takeshi carries with him. Etched into the blade is a picture of a single rose that twists its way up the clean metal.

Petal Cloud- This weapon is used more for distraction and misdirection. Takeshi throws out a dozen or so red projectiles which began to split and multiple, creating a gentle storm of rose petals that masks any escape. It also leaves quite the mess to clean up. In drastic circumstances, Takeshi will use this coupled with his fire abilities to create a powerful explosion.

Merlin's Suit ~ Ace of Hearts & Ruby Heart- One of four that was part of Merlin's Suit. It rests comfortably in the hilt of Takeshi's sword and gives him the power of fire and temporary paralysis.

Will-o-Wisp- Takeshi creates up to three fire balls that circle his person. Their purpose varies, sometimes their to simply give off light, sometimes to act as damage fodder, and sometimes used to launch at enemies. Takeshi can change the color of these fireballs at will.

Ember Blade- Takeshi's sword catches on fire, allowing it to cut through most anything.

Draco Flame- A dragon-like apparition appears around Takeshi, made completely out of fire. It can be used as a defensive or offensive device, but is commonly used to scare off would-be attackers or witnesses.

Heart Vice- Takeshi touches a person or animal with his bare hands or the tip of his sword, causing instant paralysis. The paralysis length varies, depending on the person and how much power Takeshi put into the attack.

Personal Information

Name: Azami Sakura

Age: 16

Gender: Female
Azami is usually seen as mean, arrogant, and condescending. She believes that she is better than anyone else by a large margin, and this has earned her several nasty nicknames. Despite what people may believe, Azami does want to be a better person, but something keeps getting in her way. Her father blames it on the fact that Japan is getting too relaxed in their school systems, but the truth is, is that Azami's father never took the time to get to know his daughter.

Without a parental figure around, Azami began to act out, entering that 'rebellious teenager' phase. But it went beyond that. She seeked a life that was full of danger and thrill. She became a magician thief. Not all at once. She started as a petty criminal. Shoplifting random items out of stories for the fun of it. She was caught several times, but managed to stay out of trouble by showing off a little of her own merchandise*wink**wink*. Working her way up, she got herself involved in some pretty illegal activities, the greatest of these was becoming a magician thief. Loving her line of work, she often sneaks out at night, hunting down expensive items to steal and evading the police, one of which is her father.

When Azami was younger, she was quite the daddy's girl. She got anything she wanted just by batting her eyelashes. Her mother died in child birth, meaning that the two only had each other. Unfortunately, Azami's father got promoted in police force. Enthralled by his new work, Azami's father became more and more distance. And as the gap between the two grew, so did the darkness in Azami.

Becoming a criminal, Azami seeked the thrill of the chase. It also brought her the attention that her father never gave her. That was what she truly wanted. The attention. It fed her ego and desire to be wanted. It transformed into the magician thief she is today. Of course, there came a point where thievery was no longer enough. Sure the heists could get bigger, but that just prolonged the inevitable. Just stealing became boring. But killing was something new.

It was an accident the first time. A robbery gone wrong. But it ignited a spark within Azami. The complete control she had over the situation. It was like she was a god. Sure, she decided who died. But more importantly, she decided who lived. She left a trail of blood on her way to becoming a master thief and wanted criminal. Despite on her media attention, her identity has remained hidden. Although, she fears that the police may be closing in on her. That her father might actually catch his little girl in the act.

On one hand, it would give her the attention she always wanted. But, prison life was going to suit her. That was when she learned of the place Pandora. A legend to some. Just a myth. A fairy tale. But she believed. She had to believe. It wasn't some child's fantasy to her. To her it was a place of hope. A place where she could escape to. Azami now searches for the Merlin's Suits, eager to escape Nakama City and go on to better things.

Kunai- Azami uses kunai as her primary weapon. She has one strapped to her left, but keeps several pinned in her hair as well as hidden throughout her outfit. She is also able to connect the kunai together(4 of them) to create a large shuriken.

Lotus Bloom- Azami always has a flower in her hair. The flower is imbued with magical properties so that it will never wilt or die. The flower grants Azami increased beauty and makes her nearly irresistible to most males. It gives off a powerful fragrance to immobilizes males for a short period of time.

Invisa-Wire- Stored in her gloves, Azami carries small amounts of a product known as as Invisa-Wire. She is able to shoot these threads of wire to connect to the sides of buildings so that she can scale them.
Teasing Fragrance- Given off by her Lotus Bloom, this scent makes males, and some females, flustered and frustrated, making it harder for them to do certain tasks.

Pungent Odor- A foul smell, this scent causes eyes to watery and a general bad response to those that smell it.

Mind-Numbing Scent- This smell causes men to become completely infatuated with Azami for a short period of time. Almost like brain control. Does not work on women.

Spore Dance- This is released by the Lotus Bloom, a cloud of yellow and pink spores are released into the air. It makes it hard to spot Azami and makes it appear as if there are more than one of her.

Ghostly Flight- Done through the use of Invisa-Wire, it appears as if Azami is flying or floating, but it is truly just invisa-wire cleverly rigged to give off such an appearance.
96156586443d926c30a865.jpg

"Let me say it clearly: you are unworthy of magic."

Personal Information
Name: しいシ 四士し死 (although easily mistaken for 'Lion'. This is a pun on his name.)
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Lion is mostly detached from human values. He cannot see the value nor the beauty in everyday items. Compassion, love, friendship, he has experienced none of it due to his alienation from society, and has grown up believing himself to be a weapon; a tool only to be used by his family for the sole purpose of being used in the War of Aces, to become the greatest Magician Thief in the world and a puppet they can control. Never has he questioned this. It makes up the very core of his entity. He can't even be called a human with this way of thinking.

Indeed, that was the intention, so even after his mother's death, all he can do is carry on her wishes and desire to achieve Pandora - as that's the only thing he knows how to do. That's what he was raised for, for that one purpose, and that's what he will accomplish. In that way, it would be accurate to liken him to a 'tool that functions without a master'. Even if he actually does achieve it, there would be nothing left for him. Without a purpose, a tool should just disappear.

If there is anyone in this world who is able to give him a humanity, a reason to be...he hasn't met that person yet.

There was once a family, an ancient family that spanned generations that dedicated themselves to one, simple goal; the discovery of true magic. For centuries, the members of its family would attempt to discover magic. While simple tricks and illusions could easily fool common folk, and there were surely wonders in the realm of science as well, they simply were not enough. This family tried everything, and many of them often met gruesome deaths in their attempts to pursue this fantasy they held for so long - jumping off high cliffs in an attempt to force their fictional wings to grow, draining themselves of all their own blood in an occult ritual, drinking mercury from a golden chalice. They went as far as destroying their own family name and replacing it with something far more unnatural, in an attempt to invoke the 'power of names'.

No one knows why exactly they began this quest, but everything they attempted failed. The family had become masters of illusions and trickery, and secretly amassed a wide mass of wealth through this, but what good were they if magic did not exist?

It was believed hopeless.

...

Until fifteen years ago.

A couple, latest descendents of the 四士し死, discovered rumors about the 'greatest score in the world', otherwise known as the "Merlin's Suit". Believing this to be their goal, they moved to Nakama City and immediately participated within this so-called War of Aces. For the next few years, they put both their honor and their lives on the line in pursuit of all of these legendary gems. But for all their talent at illusions, the couple were hopeless when it came to actual thievery. This was no place for idealistic magicians, it was a battle between actual professionals, people who knew how to actually use their talents for thievery. And thieves were everywhere in this city.

That's when they turned to their then-three-year-old son for a solution - a son who had been raised in a separate attempt to achieve magic, who had been taught only the most basic of human morales yet could already solve quadratic equations, who had been given the most unnatural name ever. Was he not the perfect weapon for them? And so it was that they raised him not as a human being, not as their own child, but as a means to an end.

He was taught the physical skills needed for a Magician Thief, trickery and illusions, master pickpocketing, parkour, and even other things such as advanced martial arts from several different cultures. He had the potential to become one of the greatest thieves known to all the world.

But the father had no such patience. Two years after he and his wife had arrived to the city, he left them to pursue the Merlin's Suit by himself. The man never returned.

...

Thirteen years later, Lion lives without a true purpose. He and his mother used to perform on stage and impress audiences, but neither of them enjoyed it. It was only a means to an end. His training had been mostly neglected, as his mother had been too busy searching for her husband to care, but he still trains by himself. He still carries the same ideals he'd been raised with before, and when his mother did have time for him, she made sure to remind him about it. In fact, she never called him a 'him'. She called him an 'it'.

A few months ago, his mother disappeared as well, leaving only a small black box. Within it was something his family had sought for fifteen years (one of four but still!), something that embodied the dogma, the very dream of the 四士し死...the Sapphire Diamond. Even though he is just a tool, even though he has no personal desire in this world, he knew that entire generations were depending upon him to accomplish this. To accomplish Pandora, the (supposed) key to their greatest desire.

And so the hunt is on. Using the powers of the gem and the wide amount of wealth accumulated over centuries, Lion has dedicated himself to completing the Merlin's Suit. Nothing will stand in his way.

Magician Information
Magician Thief Name: The Magician's Lion
While as a Magician Thief, he wears this, which covers the entirety of his face (there is a hollow section on the forehead for the Sapphire Diamond to be placed);
Verdigris_Leather_Lion_Mask_by_merimask.
It blends in with his vermillion hair to gave off a strange effect. As for his outfit, he doesn't bother changing his clothes, instead simply throwing a light greenish-blue cloak over his body. Around the cloak are tiny pockets containing various equipment needed for the current mission, and he has the Ace of Diamonds usually hidden beneath his sleeve.

~Bare fists: Trained in multiple advanced forms of martial arts, his hands are more than enough for him to overtake any opponent. They're aided by the handwraps he wears on them, minimizing damage to his fists and thus allowing him to hit harder. Technically not weapons, but trust me, they may as well should be.
~Merlin's Suit - Ace of Diamonds & Sapphire Diamond: One of four that was part of Merlin's Suit. He keeps it with him wherever he goes, allowing him to manipulate water and provide him temporary shielding from attacks.
~Form Flow: Quickly gathers water and condenses it, lifting it up into the air by him. This is usually in preparation for a battle, although he can also use it to drink from.
~Form Assault: Using the water, he can manipulate it into a variety of shapes, but prefers a whip. From there, he can begin an 'assault' with his watery weapon.
~Form Freeze: Exactly as it states, he freezes the water he's manipulating. This takes a little time, so he uses it only if he needs to immobilize somebody.
~Self-Form Flow: Instead of manipulating the water outside, he manipulates the blood within his own body to increase his physical prowess; speed and strength are both boosted. However, this takes a great toll on his body, so overexerting himself while using this is dangerous.
~Body Barrier: He can generate a barrier around his own body, making him impervious to damage, and he can share this with others by touching them. However, this barrier has a limit to the amount of damage it can take, and takes several hours to recharge back to full strength.

Other Information

 • His Magician Thief Name is a reference to the fact that he believes himself a tool.
 • Also, it actually means 'The Magician's New Fighter', but since both are pronounced as shishi, it's hard to tell.
 • Read out loud, しいシ 四士し死 is "Shishi Shishishishi" written with as many different variations possible in the Japanese language. Literally, it means 'New-System Death-to-Four-Fighters', but someone who hears his name aloud will probably think Lion, which is 'しし; Shishi'. That's why he'll be called Lion throughout the RP~
Personal Information
Name: Aoikime Kishiyo
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Aoikime is a very lively teenage girl, always having a skip in her step and teasing grin on her face. She's the kind of person who always has a trick up her sleeve, and never plays her ace until the final hand. This gives the impression that she is sneaky, and not very trusting as she always keeps the good stuff for herself. She is very playful, and has an attitude of not taking anything serious. Almost as f she is always playing some game that she has to one up the other player. The other dangerous aspect to Aoikime is her strategic, and intelligent mind however she down plays this with witty jokes, and her penchant for getting into reckless situations. However, though she gets herself into dangerous situations she always has a plan to get out, making one believe that it was all according to her plan. Just like her wits, her eyes are even sharper able to pick up on small details and changes in people's behavior which allows her to read people quite quickly.

Though all of that makes her into a fearsome opponent, she's prone to her mistakes and her tendency of becoming exceedingly cocky. This sometimes gets her into more trouble than she can handle, and is also the leading reason into her almost capture a few times. She's very competitive  and hates it when she does happen to lose. When that happens she believes she needs to return the favor.

Because she's also like that in everyday life, it makes it hard for her to hold relationships with friends. It's simply that they can't handle her personality. The most common reason she's heard are that she can't take anything seriously, and that though she says they were friends they didn't feel as though they had her trust. Though Aoikime believe friends are the best thing to have considering what she does, she doesn't deny that there are times when the loneliness hurts. Luckily Aoikime managed to keep her childhood friend, which is enough for her.

Other than her night time job, she is very passionate about playing Shogi as is everyone in her family. It helps keep her mind sharp, and when she has a problem that she needs to think about she can usually be found playing Shogi with her grandfather. If he isn't available then she plays by herself. Aoikime has also taken up gymnastics, which helps with her agility and is another way for her to relieve stress. As an homage to her thief side, Aoikime dabbles in magic tricks, simply to practice the art of misdirection.

Aoikime was born into a fairly well off family. It's not like they were rich, but they didn't experience any financial difficulty. When she was born both of her eyes were blue but at four her left eye faded into gold. She was often teased and bullied because of it, and because she was a very tiny child she wasn't able to stand up to the bullies. However, one day another girl with white hair that was covered in dirt stepped up and defended her. That was Kiyomi Nasahara. She was the same age as Aoikime, but was taller and had a strong personality. Kiyoko was what you would call a tomboy, and after that day the two of them have been inseparable. When she turned 12 she asked for contacts.

Back at home, Aoikime was put under training courtesy of her grandfather who loved Shogi. He trained her long and hard, in strategies, bluffs and mind prowess. He wanted Aoikime to continue where her mother didn't want too. Not that Aoikime minded. She enjoyed Shogi, and the time she spent with her Grandfather. More than that Aoikime loved how it challenged her mind, and that was probably what started her competitive streak. As she grew up she continued with her Shogi and ended up becoming the 1st in the nation. Shogi, however, wasn't the only thing that Aoikime got herself into. Thanks to Shogi Aoikime began to love brain busters, and anything that could give her a challenge. That is where Kiyoko comes in. Kiyoko, unlike Aoikime, was rich beyond means. It's because Kiyoko's grandfather was a master thief himself, but of course no one knew except for his family, and luckily Aoikime due to Kiyoko spilling the beans.

Anyway, like Aoikime continuing the Shogi playing in her family, Kiyoko was supposed to continue the thievery in her family. However, Kiyoko didn't have the athleticism that Aoikime seem to have. Reason being, that every time Aoikime visited Kiyoko's home (more like mansion) there were traps always set that were designed to train Kiyoko. Seeing Aoikime's potential, Kiyoko made a deal with her grandfather to train Aoikime instead of her and his grandfather agreed. With this Aoikime's training for her nightly position began, and Aoikime loved every moment of it. The thrill, adrenalin and the idea of having to constantly out wit and be one step a head had her totally engaged. Along with the thief training from Kiyoko's grandfather, he also told her to practice magic in order to master the art of misdirection and deception. Needless to say it was a fun pass time, and cool to show off with at school. Needless to say, she ended up continuing Kiyoko's family legacy of master thievery as well as her own family's tradition of master Shogi players.

Though she is the one who steals the items, Kiyoko is the brains behind the operations. She does all the research for her next target, keeps her gadgets in working order. It was through Kiyoko's grandfather that Aoikime got the Ace of Clubs, giving birth to Mirage. Also though Aoikime's grandfather seems to have caught on too her secret identity her parents don't have a clue.

Aoikime is rather short, reaching to an even 5 feet. She was born with heterochromia her right eye blue and her left eye golden. When she isn't in school, she is always wearing her favorite hat - as seen in the pic - and clothes that was more than likely picked out by Kiyoko. In her left eye she wears a blue contact to keep anyone from knowing she has heterochromia.
Magician Information
Magician Thief Name: Mirage
When it comes to her outfits they never stay the same. That's due to Kiyoko always having a different outfit for Aoikime to wear. The only consistency to all of her clothes is a utility belt that Kiyoko always manages to match with her current outfit. She also takes out her contact so that her golden eye is visible. She keeps her card in her brazier, and she keeps the gem in a special pocket that Kiyoko always tailors for her in the outfits.

Throwing knives -There isn't anything fancy about her throwing knives. Aoikime manages to keep them concealed on her person in numerous places. How many she actually keeps on her is unknown.

Grappling gun - Used for her high speed getaways, as well as a quick fire way to scale large objects.

Ace of Clubs & Amethysts Club - Giving Aoikime the ability of Telekinesis, and temporary invisibility she keeps the card securely in her brazier.
Ah ah ah, stay put: By concentrating on an object she can prevent that object from moving. Whether it be people or stationary objects. However, the moment her concentration is broken it wears off.
Don't touch: This allows her to pull or push away objects/people away from her. As of right now her range for this is only 15 feet.

Look no hands: A rather basic use of her abilities, but she can levitate and move things with her mind. To a small extent she can use this on herself and people, however she can only do so for a few seconds. Her most practical application of this is on her knives as she can direct them where to go.
Don't blink: Aoikime can make herself, and any object she is in contact with invisible for a short period of time. Once the object leaves her hand it becomes visible again. She can do this for about a minute.

Wrong Way: Aoikime is able to change the direction or course of an object. The heavier, and quicker the object the harder it is to alter its course. An example would be if someone was to roll a dice she would be able to change the number it rolls on.

Other Information

 • Her name Aoikime is used with the Kanji (葵; Aoi) for Hollyhock, (季; ki) for Season, and (芽; me) for Sprout. Which when put together means "Seasons when Hollyhock's sprout", which is during the summer and is also the time she was born. Her last name Kishiyo is used with the kanji (棋士; Kishi) meaning Shogi Player, and (世; yo) for Generations. So her last name means "Generation of Shogi Players"
 • Her name Aoikime is also a sneaky way of giving away her identity of a thief, as it also means "Blue and Yellow eye" if her name was spelled with (青い; Aoi) for Blue (黄; ki) for Yellow, and (目; me) for eyes. Though when her parents used this play on words they did it as a reference to her different colored eyes.
 • Just as her last name suggest, Aoikime is a very good Shogi player ranking number 1 in the nation for the game running 6 years. When she is in serious mode and needs to clear her mind or thing on something she plays Shogi which usually helps.
 • Aoikime is actually allergic to most flowers, including Hollyhocks.
 • Aoikime excels in gymnastics
 • Her thief name is a reference to the fact that she is rarely seen due to her quickness, but mostly her ability to turn invisible.
 • If you're interested in seeing how her eyes look, refer to Soshi Miketsukami from the anime InuxBoku
"Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings."

Personal Information
Name: Hideki, Ronin VII
Age: 43
Gender: Male
Ronin is a calm and intelligent old man. He has a keen eye for detail and gets really upset when he finds something wrong. Such as something unsymmetrical or slightly ajar. But instead of complaining about it, he hastes to fix the problem. He is the definition of a perfectionist. He also has a deep love for animals, especially birds. Just like a typical tea sipping old man, he does care for culture and his morals. He is respectable and shows the utmost respect for others; unless you are on his sh*t list. Lol. He is fairly kind and doesn't like to get over excited or frantic. He believes it can raise your blood pressure.

Ronin is the son of a master locksmith named Hideki Ronin VI and beautiful mistress Hideki Suwapu. His mother the daughter of a rich countess. She ran away from her home in Nara to Oosaka because she was set up for an arranged marriage. She eventually found the love of her life, Duporo. After a year together they settled down and had their first child, Hideki Ronin. Two years later they had their second child. Hideki Poitsuda. Ronin VI always told his children the story of his ancestors. He told them how they were all masterminds of craft and deception. He told them how they used cleverness and their wits to gain what they wanted and how they swam in their wealth. Poitsuda always laughed at the stories saying "where are that wealth now?". He just threw them away as old folk tales or fables. But not Ronin. He believed every bit of the stories. He didn't know why, because they did sound a little far fetched. But he believed. One night, when Ronin was only 10 years of age, he went out in the night for a stroll. Although his mother always objected to it. While he was out, he was unaware of what was happening in his home. As he made his way back home, he noticed a group of men rushing in the opposite direction of his house, but he thought nothing of it. When he entered the living room area, he saw his parents and younger brother all tied up against the wall with their throats slit. Upset, he cried out for help. He ran through the prefecture to find some police. The rest is history.

At the age of 15 he followed in his father's footsteps and started his trade as a locksmith. As the years passed, he thought back on the old stories his father used to tell him and his brother. He thought maybe he could get by with another trade. He wanted to become a master of craft, so he became a magician. He was know as the Great Hideki At the age of 22, he was renown around the world. Next he wanted to practice the art of deception. With his IQ, he became a master thief over night. He's stolen from the biggest banks and stole the brightest jewels. He never actually wanted these trinkets, but the challenge of getting them was so exciting. He went under the alias as Toorima. 20 years passed as he continued this trade. He still has yet to be caught.

"You could say that I am doing this for fame, or you could say that it's for power, or even because I am simply curious to know what is beyond the Gate, and any of them could be true."

Name: Kiryu Okita
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Kiryu is, by the very definition of the word, cool.  He's a smooth talker, good with the ladies, and of course he's got a line for everything. He's somewhat of a flirt, and seems to be charmingly perverted. He can seem very caring at times, but all of this is only a persona to hide who Kiryu really is. Although he acts like the guys everyone wants to be friends with, he in truth doesn't care much for others. Because he never had many friends, he sees no point in making any unless it's specifically for a goal. Kiryu is also very calculating, and never does a job without knowing everything about the people involved as well as the targetted object. While masking as Shadow Fox, Kiryu speaks in very vague terms, and often answers questions in circles.

Since the day he was born, Kiryu was raised to become a Magician Theif for the Okita Clan. At a young age, Kiryu was made well aware of his family's lineage as the heirs to the legendary Sogo Okita of the Shinsengumi, and was constantly reminded that he was to always bring his family honor, regardless of who suffered or what he had to do to bring them said honor. This usually involved Kiryu using his exceedingly powerful magic to rob certain treasures from museums and vaults, under the guise of The Shadow Fox only to have them later returned to their owners by the "generous Okita Clan" a few months later. Though, despite his obvious accomplishments, Kiryu was always treated as a side member for the Okita Clan, and was only ever mentioned as the son of the head of the Okita Clan.

This is how things continued for Kiryu, that is until his father died and he was given the leadership of his Clan. On the same day in fact, Kiryu was told the reason his magical prowess, and that of his families . Many years ago, one of Kiryu's ancestors had assembled Merlin's Suit together, and laid eyes on what was known as Pandora. From that single minute vision alone, Kiryu's ancestor gained an ability to use very powerful magic, which was passed down through the generations of the Okita Clan. The ancestor also recieved an object known as the Wild Joker as well as a gem called the Devils Joker, which gave whoever held it a powerful control over Shadow Magic. This truly got Kiryu's attention. As he accepted the the Jokers, he made a vow to himself and his Clan, that he too would soon lay eyes on Pandora. Now that he had this power, he knew that now he would truly become "The Shadow Fox".

Magician Information
Magician Thief Name: The Shadow Fox
When on a mark, Shadow Fox fox chooses to wear a black hooded coat with a somewhat uneccesary amount of buckles on it. The coat zips up from the top and Kiryu prefers to leave the bottom of the coat open for extra mobility. His hands are covered in black leather glaves, so as not to leave any fingerprints on his marks. He likes to wear black jeans as well, as those are more comfortable than most other thief gear, and he chooses to where combat boots as well. His face is covered by a black ceramic fox mask with blue eyes, and red painted whiskers.
Weapons: N/A
Shadow's Imitation - Kiryu is able to use the shadow's around him to create a nearly perfect copy of himself. The only give away is that the imitations don't cast a shadow of their own. As Kiryu operates mainly at night however, this has not yet proved to be a problem.

Dark Lancet - Kiryu bends and sharpens the shadows into a stream of spikes that he then aims at his opponent. This attack is limited to enemies on the ground.

Black Arrow - This attack is similar to Dark Lancet, except that rather than streaming it across the ground in one strike, Kiryu summons the shadows into multiple spikes, which hover around him in the air, which he then sends flying towards his opponent.

Shadow Tendril - By using shadows, Kiryu creates tentacle like objects from the ground that he uses to lift objects and people. He can also use these to strike his opponent in place of punching.

Kageryu - This is Kiryu's strongest attack. Kiryu focuses a high amount of magic power and uses it to shape the shadows he commands into the form of a dragon, before sending it rushing at his enemy.

Morphing Shades - Perhaps the most efficient spell in Kiryu's arsenal, as it allows him to sink into the shadows and travel from place to place thusly. He can also use it to dodge strictly no magic based attacks.
olcY7eA.png
"Cherish this evening, ladies and gentlemen, for it is under this moonlight that you are in the presence of the White Mask!"

Personal Information
Name: Kuro Kagami (鏡•黒 Lit. Kagami Kuro)
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Kuro is a remarkably kind, caring, and humble man with a deep love for magic, history, and literature; with his secret love being the art of thievery. He is usually a quiet man, preferring to observe the world around him rather than to engage in it. However, this does not equate to him being antisocial or anything of the sort. Actually, when engaged in a conversation, Kuro seems to exude a comforting aura and is quite the agreeable fellow. Because of this, Kuro is able to extort information from others without raising any suspicious flags. One of his more defining features is that he comes off as a rather simple man and maybe even a bit of a fool. Oftentimes this causes others to not take him seriously which, admittedly, plays into Kuro's favor for he is a much more cunning man than he lets on. Although it's rather difficult to distinguish between the times when he's playing the fool or when he's actually being foolish.

His relationship with his "assistants" is a bit confusing. On one hand, he seems to care greatly for them and treats them kindly and respectfully but on the other hand, he sees them as merely tools for use in furthering his agenda. His views on his assistants is puzzling even to himself, this may be due to his conflicting viewpoints as Kuro, the man, and as White Mask, the figure. As White Mask, Kuro becomes a narcissistic, greedy individual who loves nothing more than to acquire valuable objects in order to sell them to those willing to pay a fortune. The White Mask persona is one that is quite cocky, arrogant, sarcastic, and theatrical who enjoys toying with others. Usually his assistants are the ones doing most of the grunt work while White Mask enjoys the fame and recognition for their crimes. Despite White Mask existing as an almost separate entity from Kuro, the Magician Thief still retains a bit of the foolishness associated with the man underneath the mask.

Kuro Kagami is the son of a humble farmer and a beautiful woman of wealthy origins - that is before she gave up that life to marry Kuro's father. Kuro spent his childhood living with his parents in Japan's countryside. He attended a special school that readies children to take jobs in the agriculture industry. It wasn't a spectacular lifestyle but back then, Kuro hadn't the faintest thought that there was so much more to life. When Kuro was eleven, his parents died in a car accident, forcing Kuro's grandfather - on his mother's side of the family - to adopt the young lad. Still stricken with grief over the death of his parents, Kuro became a very angry, bitter child who was constantly punished by his strict grandfather. Having tolerated enough of his grandson's behavior and with his vast fortune as a CEO of a powerful shipping business, Kuro's grandfather sent him abroad to America to study at a prestigious boarding school. He hoped that Kuro would become a changed man by the time he completed his studies and would be ready to take over the family business.

During his time in America, Kuro became fascinated in magic and escapology after he watched a tape of world famous magician, Renji Asano's last performance. Because of that, he chose to secretly study those fields instead of business like his grandfather had intended. Though not much in anything else, you could say that Kuro is a genius in the field of magic and escapology. He would hold small shows on a regular basis at the boarding school to demonstrate his mastery in the magical arts. At the age of sixteen, Kuro confronted his grandfather over the phone about his dream to become a professional magician. Furious by the fact that he had invested so much into Kuro in order for him to take over the family business, Kuro's grandfather disowned him and cut off his financial support. Fortunately for Kuro, a week earlier, he had made a contract with an agent to perform his magic on stage in Las Vegas. The deal would earn Kuro at least $100,000 for three nights of work. Kuro arrived at Las Vegas three weeks later for his first show and his performance went off without a hitch. He would go on to perform a total of six more shows over his summer break.

By now, Kuro had approximately $370,000 after his magic tour. He would use it to complete his studies at the academy before moving on to a fairly well known university. During his time at the university, his fascination for magic and escapology only grew more prevalent which caused his grades to suffer. Eventually he would quit the university and went back to Vegas to pursue a full-time career in stage magic. Unfortunately, he proved to be significantly less popular than he used to be and soon fell into debt because of gambling. In his desperation, Kuro joined up with a band of thieves and accompanied them on many of their heists. He learned how to be a master thief rather quickly thanks to his knowledge of escapology which he applied to his heists. After several years of various successful heists, Kuro struck out on his own and moved to the UK to make a name for himself there. He adopted the identity of the White Mask and began pulling off a variety of heists. Though not all of them were successful, his heists did manage to garner Kuro the fame that he wanted.

Fast forwarding, Kuro later met his first assistant during a heist in America. She is a girl of American-Japanese descent. His first assistant was the one to introduce him to the world of real magic, much to his utter surprise. Later on in France, Kuro met the woman who would later become his second assistant. The three of them would spend nearly two years pulling off the most incredible heists in Europe. Now in the present, Kuro has just learned of the resurgence of heists by extraordinary individuals in Nakama City in Japan. Wanting to learn more about these individuals and to establish his own fame in Japan, Kuro, accompanied by his two assistants, returns to his home country...
Magician Information
Magician Thief Name: The White Mask; Mr. Mask; Monsieur Masque; Mask de la Blanca; Jokey Boy; The Specter; The Moonlight Marauder
As White Mask, Kuro dons an all-black suit with white trim and various white-colored bands; the suit jacket's coattail is split into two and goes all the way down to his ankles. Underneath the suit jacket is a white dress shirt with the collar fastened together by an oval-shaped, jet-black jewel. Along with black trousers, expensive black and white dress shoes, fine silk gloves, a large black cape, and a large-brimmed top hat with a white band wrapped around the hat, White Mask wears his signature mask.

White Cane Sword: As its name suggests, this weapon is a sword disguised in the appearance of a white cane. Its blade has been magically enhanced to increase its durability.

Deck of Cards: An ordinary deck of playing cards that, through a bit of magic, can be utilized as a deck of razor sharp projectiles.

Magic Top Hat: Once an ordinary top hat, through the use of powerful magic, it has been transformed into a dimensional portal of sorts.

Magic Cape: Despite its name, there is actually nothing magical about the cape. It is, however, extraordinarily durable and resistant to many hazards.

Sleeve Gun: A popular device used in the past, it allows for a small gun to be hidden underneath the sleeve of a long jacket or coat until readied to be put to use. It holds about five bullets at any given time.

Moonlight Magic: White Mask's main source of offensive magic, this magic is dependent upon the light given off by the moon. With this magic, White Mask can transform moonlight into energy and use it for a variety of purposes whether its unleashing a crescent moon-shaped energy to slash the enemy or creating an explosion of light as a distraction for a getaway. White Mask can also utilize his sword or gun as a medium for his Moonlight Magic. Unfortunately, due to this magic's reliance of moonlight, during the morning, this magic is completely unusable. The magic is also weakened depending on cloud conditions at night and lunar phases. When the moon is most prevalent - during a full moon - Moonlight Magic can be utilized to its fullest potential.

Magic Hat Trick: This is a simple form of defense magic against projectile attacks in which White Mask uses his magic top hat to catch incoming objects (such as bullets, small energy attacks, etc.) and make them "disappear" within the hat. The secret behind this trick is that the magic hat has been transformed into a dimensional pocket that simply absorbs whatever is put into it. Those objects are then stored within a pocket dimension that can only be accessed by White Mask. This ability, so far, is limited to small objects and weak energy projectiles. It cannot be used to swallow big attacks nor full humans. So far, only White Mask can access the dimensional with one hand and arm.

Disappearing Act: In this trick, White Mask wraps his cape around himself and magically disappears, leaving the cape to be retrieve by one of his assistants as they make their escape as well. This trick is simply meant for running away.

Switch Trick: In similar fashion to his Disappearing Act, White Mask shrouds himself with his cape while one of his assistants (with a shroud or cloak of their own) attempts to drape it over an enemy. If successfully done, White Mask and the chosen enemy will switch places on the battlefield. This trick works on objects as well.

Spectral Form: This trick detaches White Mask's soul from the world, transforming him into a ghost. Though he is still clearly visible, White Mask becomes completely intangible allowing him to pass through attacks, objects, other people, etc. as well as preventing him from being able to attack or touch humans or objects. He can turn this trick on and off at will, however, when the trick is off and it is being turned on again, there is a ten-second delay before the trick is turned on.

Tangibility Trick: With this trick, White Mask can insert magic into an object that is usually intangible and make it tangible as well as doing the opposite. At the most, White Mask can use this trick on ten separate things at one time and the effect only lasts for ten seconds.

Name: Lucy Takayama (高山•ルーシー Lit. Takayama Rūshī)
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Lucy is usually a boisterous, happy-go-lucky girl with a mean streak when it comes to Kuro. She constantly is a source of annoyance for him with her constant bickering and shouting. Oftentimes, she is even seen casually insulting him by calling him an idiot or whatnot. This mostly stems from Kuro's tendency to behave rather foolishly at times. Lucy's insults and scolding of Kuro's foolish behavior escalates even further when Kuro dons his White Mask persona; she even goes as far as to physically injure him when he does something she deems idiotic in front of an individual or a group of people. Despite her usual treatment of Kuro, Lucy actually cares very deeply for him; she even has a bit of a secretive crush on him. Lucy also has a very deep, sister-like relationship with Kuro's other assistant. Lucy has quite a knack for music - a field of the performing arts which she absolutely adores. When not studying at her university or helping Kuro with his heists, Lucy enjoys playing with her myriad of instruments. As Aria, her usual personality doesn't really change all that much.

Lucy comes from a rather unusual background. Her father is Japanese while her mother is American and both of her parents belonged to an organization that practices witchcraft and magic; consequently, the organization was located in Salem, Massachusetts. As a young child, Lucy was committed to the organization by her parents. They wanted her to learn magic at a young age to allow her more potential for growth. Admittedly, she quite enjoyed her time learning magic due to the fact that the members of the organization were quite kind to her; they were more of a community really. In addition to studying magic, her parents also wanted her to have a normal education. Lucy, herself, also had a keen interest in learning how to play various musical instruments. All of this amounted to a very busy life for the young girl but she never once complained due to her studious nature. Sometime during her childhood, Lucy and her parents moved to Las Vegas due to her parents desire of pursuing a career in stage magic.

In her mid-teen years, Lucy began performing with her parents on stage and the trio became quite popular. They would go on to perform for four more years until Lucy turned eighteen. Instead of continuing to perform with her parents, Lucy decided to pursue a career in music. Supportive of their daughter's decision, Lucy's parents sent her to Britain to study music at a prestigious institute while they continue their performance as a magic duo. Overseas, Lucy worked diligently to study music hoping to one day perform in a famous orchestra. Unfortunately, Lucy soon found herself dropped from the university when she was conned by a thief posing as an agent of a well-known orchestra group. She lost all of her money and thus couldn't continue to pay for her education. One day, the same thief that conned her used her money to purchase an expensive ring - a ring that had been the target of the White Mask for some time. After successfully stealing the ring, White Mask happened to witness a confrontation taking place between Lucy and the other thief. Feeling bad for the young girl, White Mask approached Lucy later on and gave her the ring, explaining to her his situation and advising her to sell the ring. Initially, Lucy had sold the ring and planned to continue her education but she felt a strange connection to White Mask and offered to come along with him.

White Mask refused at first but the determined Lucy promised to teach him actual, real magic if he allowed her to come along with him. White Mask soon agreed and, since then, the two have been traveling all over Europe as a Magician Thief duo. It wasn't long before the two met Bernice, White Mask's second assistant. Now in the present, the three of them are heading to Japan where Lucy has decided that she would continue her music education at Nakama University all the while continuing to be White Mask's assistant.

MRdrg3F.png

Even outside of her university, Lucy dresses in an outfit very similar to her university's uniform because she considers the style as being "cute". Her normal attire predominantly consists of the colors pink, red, and white.
Magician Information
Magician Thief Name: Aria
GMXfTxK.png

Linking Rings: Aria can magically produce linking rings for use in combat. She can turned the rings razor sharp to utilize as projectile weapons as well as adjust the size of the rings. She can create up to six rings at any one time. The rings can be, however, easily broken or destroyed by a good attack.

Magician Scarves: Aria can produce numerous scarves from her sleeves for a variety of purposes in combat. The number of scarves she can produce is seemingly limitless; however, it may just be that she can produce a large amount but there is indeed a limit. These scarves are quite durable as they are imbued with magic but are still easily destroyed or ripped.

Ring Whip: As their name suggests, linking rings are capable of linking together. In this trick, Aria turn the rings razor sharp and link them together where she can then attack the enemy with the linked rings in the manner of a whip. The rings are actually powerful enough to cut through concrete. Unfortunately, however, the rings are still easily broken by a good attack.

Lunar Whip: This trick is a variation of Aria's Ring Whip trick. In this variation, Aria turns one ring razor sharp and fastens a long set of scarves to the ring which she can then utilized like a whip to attack the enemy. This variation is faster than the Ring Whip trick because of the reduced weight, however, it is less damaging.

Magician's Coffin: With this trick, Aria is able to restrain an enemy using either her linking rings, scarves, or a combination of the two. While it is an effective way to restrain the enemy, it is not impossible for an enemy to break through the restraints using any regular method that would destroy the rings or scarves.

Rasoio Tempesta: Meaning "Razor Tempest" in Italian, this trick is currently Aria's strongest trick. Aria is able to produce violent winds carrying her razor sharp rings to assault the enemy. This trick is capable of causing significant - even fatal - injuries and is quite difficult to evade all of the rings considering the effects of the violent wind that accompanies them. Unfortunately, this trick weakens Aria dramatically after usage, making her unable to battle.
Other Information
• Lucy's surname, Takayama (高山), means "High Mountain" in Japanese. The name is also a reference to the famous American-Japanese magician, Cyril Takayama.

• Aside from being a thief, Lucy is also pursuing an education in music at Nakama University.
• Lucy has two cats; one is named Siegfried and the other is named Roy in reference to the famous real-life magician duo, Siegfried and Roy. Consequently, Siegfried and Roy were renowned for their use of big cats in their performances.
• Kuro and his assistants each represent a field of art. In Lucy's case, she represents the art of music.
Name: Bernice Charlotte (シャーロット•バーニス Lit Shārotto Bānisu)
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Bernice is an unusually quiet person; she's even been called "Kuro's silent companion" many times before. She usually just stands around taking orders from Kuro or his White Mask persona without question. When she does speak, Bernice barely uses more than a couple words or phrases to get her ideas across but she usually makes sure that she is understood. In addition to her silent demeanor, Bernice is usually seen with a rather impassive facial expression. Because of these traits, many people can confuse her for an unfriendly person which is usually untrue. She has a strong devotion to Kuro, willing to risk life and limb for him. She also has an outstanding, sister-like relationship with Kuro's other assistant, Lucy. Bernice also has a deep love for art - more specifically, painting. She mostly uses her free time to paint unusual creatures or gloomy landscapes. Hailing from Paris, France, Bernice speaks with a French accent.

Bernice is the daughter of a baker and a master thief; the baker is her mother while the thief is her father. She was born and raised in Paris, France but she grew up without a father figure due to the nature of her father's profession. Even as a young child, she discovered that there is such a thing as real magic and that was due to her precognition ability. Since she was little, she could see visions of events taking place way before they actually happen. However, at this point in her life, her precognition ability displayed these events in an unusual way. In her visions, Bernice saw abnormal creatures and distorted environments acting as substitutes for normal people and places. She used to draw her visions out on paper with crayons and showed them to her mother; needless to say, her mother didn't think much of them aside from being mere drawings. One day, Bernice had a vision of someone dying on a bed and, almost a year later, her mother passed away on her bed from her ongoing illness. Bernice was then sent to live in a group home until she was eighteen. Now as a young adult, she became an artist, painting the unusual creatures and landscapes from her ongoing visions. Consequently, she became quite popular for her art. At age twenty-three, Bernice was approached by a man claiming to be her father; he even had proof of their relationship.

The man wanted Bernice's help to steal a valuable art piece from an art gallery she has ties with. At first, Bernice completely refused her father's offer and even went as far as slapping him for leaving her and her mother. However, that night, Bernice had a vision that her father was going to die during the heist and she had a change of heart. During the heist, her father betrayed her and attempted to pin the crime on her while he ran off with the painting after she had managed to save his life from the accident that would've happened if she hadn't gone with him. Fortunately, two other thieves arrived on the scene and helped Bernice to escape after witnessing what had happened. The main thief called himself the "White Mask". The next day, White Mask and his assistant along with Bernice confronted her father and managed to steal back the painting while also leading the police right to her father. Some time after the whole heist incident, Bernice joined up with White Mask and his assistant, pledging that she would from then on help them on their heists.

WvqHKEM.png
Magician Information
Magician Thief Name: Nico
GZiXNqZ.png

Her hair color remains the same as her normal appearance.

Superhuman Attributes: As Nico, Bernice displays amazing superhuman abilities such as super strength, super durability, super speed, high-speed regenerative ability, and more. This is her most important "weapon" due to the fact that she's primarily a physical fighter with no offensive Tricks or other offensive magical abilities.

Magic Staff: Nico wields a long, white staff in combat. This staff has the ability to grow in length and shrink back to its original length; it cannot, however, shrink beyond its normal length. The magic staff can also be broken up into numerous segments connected by magic chains for versatility in combat. The maximum number of segments the staff can be broken down into is unknown. Though the staff and the magic chains connecting individual segments are amazingly durable, they can be broken but will repair itself over time.

Precognition: Nico has the ability to see future events of random intervals, concerning random people, and at undetermined times. Because of the randomness of this precognition, this Trick is almost always useless on a daily basis. When Nico's precognition is activated, her eyes glow in a bright blue color.

Beauty's Glare- Takeshi creates an explosion of orange light. It gives off almost no heat, but blinds anyone that looks into it for a few seconds.

Phoenixian Flame- A phoenix-like apparition appears around Takeshi, made completely out of fire.

Blossoming Inferno: A wall of flames surrounds Takeshi, taking on the appearance of a brilliant rose. Takeshi can expand the wall, scorching everything that it touches.

Heat Wave: Can only be used while the Ember Blade is active. With a powerful single slash, a thin blade of fire jets out of the sword.

Hot Shot: Flames engulf Takeshi's body, giving him the appearance of a flaming meteor. It greatly increases his speed, strength, endurance, and durability. This power burns Takeshi's body while in use. Even with his increased tolerability to extreme temperatures, after awhile it will take a toll on his body.

Fire Breath: A weak stream of flames is produced from Takeshi's mouth. Can be modified to be produced from the palms of Takeshi's hands or feet.

Fire Fighter: Different from all of his other abilities, this move allows Takeshi to absorb flames around him. It does not increase his power or stamina, but does act like a boost of caffeine, awakening his senses if dulled.
Other Information:

 • Takeshi often produces roses and other such flowers for women.
 • Takeshi's calling card is a single rose.
 • Takeshi lives on coffee, his favorite being a capuccino. He practices making intricate images with cream in his drink.
 • Takeshi has a deep urge to take whatever he deems beautiful.

Renegade...

I love Takeshi!! Your Lonesome Rose has been accepted!

Welcome to Midnight Magic!!

Let the show begin!

Hahaha, great! Super pumped about this RP. Definitely an interesting concept...although my thoughts may stem from the fact I haven't watched any anime that this is based off of.

Haven't watched the anime, but this seems incredibly interesting.

Since 'real' (non-illusion-based) magic exists in the form of the cards and such, does that mean other, lesser magical items could possibly exist? Giving people (like moi) who are not going to create a character with a card, can still have a shot at competing with those who do?
av3hmp.jpg

Yeah I say that I'm better than everyone else, but that's only because bester isn't a word.

Lotus Bloom- Azami always has a flower in her hair. The flower is imbued with magical properties so that it will never wilt or die.

Personal Information
Name: Aoikime Kishiyo
Age: 21

She was, surprisingly 4 years younger than Aoikime, but was taller and had a stronger personality.

As of right now she is fresh from college and managed a teaching job at Nakama High for Science, when the previous teacher moved away.

I'm still having trouble coming up with a thief name.

Well there are a few things messed up a bit.

In the appearance, 2nd link is screwy. And also...I think that's it...not sure.

Also, please specify where your gem and ace happen to appear in your Magician appearance.

That's something I also need to ask you Renegade: where is the gem and card in your Magician appearance. Pretty sure you mentioned the gem...just not the ace.

Alright, let's play with the Japanese language a little.

I don't see enough drama in here :P

While as a Magician Thief, he wears this, which covers the entirety of his face (there is a hollow section on the forehead for the Sapphire Diamond to be placed);
